It usually pops up and covers the log in box before you can get logged in. At least that's my experience with it. Usually takes at least two tries to get logged in. Sometimes more because when you click to minimize it your also clicking the login button. Since you haven't finished typing in your info, the message pops up saying you have interred incorrect log on information. Then you have to start all over again. Not sure how hard it would be to put the popup on the other side of the screen. Might help out.

Maybe so but it is still a pain when trying to sign in. What is it's usefulness. Just get rid of it.

The purpose is to try and get people to participate and make it easier. Being involved in support for a few forums, how do I join and/or how do i post a question is one of the most top questions from those not as familar with how these forums work.

I certainly understand your point and commend you for trying to help out the new guys. And don't in the least doubt it is a major question asked by the new recruits. But I can't help but wonder how many just give up and move on after numerous attempts at an unsuccessful login. Maybe I'm just being unreasonable by thinking it should not be difficult to login, or for newbies to get started in participating in the forum. Surely, the highly qualified staff at Corvette Forum can diagnose and implement a workable solution for the problem.

That is correct. However if you log out or if your browser is set to clear browsing history on shutdown for security purposes, you will have the popup/ logon problem. Not trying to argue with you, just offering a point of view you might not have thought of.

Sometimes we dont want to log in. Its a really annoying and pointless feature. Think most would vote to have it removed.

It was designed to display for Guests to help, and encourage, them to participate. Being involved for support for years, "how do i post" is one of the most common questions. On that token, it is not pointless even though you don't agree or see the use. There is a minimize button to minimize it.
