OT picture viewing problem

XP has had no updates for a couple of years now, could be that the software is now failing you as the newer stuff moves forward. Maybe try and reload the program or check for program errors or older updates to the version you are running on the Microsoft site ... I loved XP, the windows 10 is ok but it has its moments to.

some pics show up just fine others show these (below), I tried firefox and get no pics and no small boxes (like below), and while I know you don`t have an answer why only here at CF do I have any problems at all?

This problem only started when CF put the pop-up box on the lower right.
Once logged in I don't see that 'Ask a question' box.
Could CF have caused the problem?

I believe you are correct, loging in makes the pop up disappear but it doesn`t make the pics show up, and it`s only certain pics not every one, according to jt the IT guy on the help page we need to upgrade our computers, except what I have does everything I ask it to everywhere except here at CF

if you go to the help page and scroll down you will see plenty of locked threads on the subject, maybe you can decipher what they are saying but I can`t.

Howard and guys on xp,
The jist i am getting is cf as a website has photos hosted more than one place, hosted just means saved, so to speak, also website things get updated, xp is no longer supported or updated by microsoft,
Internet Explorer and chrome on xp do not like a photo server on cf so you get the X
Long fix step up to wins 10 or 7/8,
Short fix download firefox modzilla browser, its free and i believe it will work to see all photos, im not home cant test it.

I use Mozilla Firefox and XP and no problems. When not logged in I just minimize the pop up; logged in it disappears. Also running Adfender.

Please don't cross-post the same message across multiple forums. It's difficult for us to be able to follow and reply to multiple copies of the same thread covering the same issue.

BTW, please know despite Firefox is the only major browser to still support XP, they have clearly stated they don't plan to for the long term and they also state the very same thing about the need to update to an operating system that is still supported and updated for security:

Thanks.

In the meantime, we strongly encourage our users to upgrade to a version of Windows that is supported by Microsoft. Unsupported operating systems receive no security updates, have known exploits, and are dangerous for you to use. For planning purposes, enterprises using Firefox should consider September 2017 as the support end date for Windows XP and Vista.
