Didn't realize they had disappeared. Checked with the tech experts and they have reset the software to allow "ninja edits" for two minutes after a post has been made. That should allow time for fixing errors you notice after you've posted something.
Thereafter, you still can edit your posts, but not without there being a notation on when you did it. That can be useful to thwart changes in sales threads after the sale is complete and the customer complains the item received is not as described.

I check and think its OK and then as soon as its posted I find I goofed!

Turns out, the ninja edits were removed for a valid reason involving the thwarting of spammers on the site. I had forgotten about that until J T reminded me. My apologies, but the ninja edits now are gone again.
