Hi everyone, it's been a while since I last visited and I know I shouldn't post this here but I just want to be able to get the most readers. My 19 yr old daughter was recently killed by a drunk driver on the 55 freeway in Sta Ana, CA last Friday, November 30 at 1:10 AM. My daughter, Sami was a passenger and asleep when a female driver hit their p/u truck at double the speed limit on the opposing lane. Everyone survived with minimal injuries except my daughter who suffered from extreme head and chest injuries. She was taken to the nearest trauma center but didn't make it. she was a sophomore Chemical Engineering student at the University of Riverside (CA). A straight "A" student who never missed a day in school. Please pray for her soul and help me spread the dangers of drunk driving. Thank you so much.

Default In my prayers

Wow, my heart goes out to you, I too have a college age
(18) daughter and its my constant worry that she will slip in her judgement or just be at the wrong place at the wrong time and she will be taken from me before her time. I feel the same way about my son who is a year older (19) then her but he is home with me attending college locally. What a bummer, I dont know what to say to you to ease your greif, hang in there,,, Peace, Moosie

Man,I send you my condolences.
As someone who always wanted a child,i can't imagine you loss.
I'll pray for Her and your family as well, and i'll leave this one note,
as a Scientific Fact; Matter cannot be destroyed,it can only be changed. The wood becomes ash,the rock becomes dirt,so trust me when i say, Her Soul continues. God's Speed Brother.
P.S. I never did understand how or why anyone would drive drunk.
Duh! Steve

Drinkers will never learn.
Our county is like one big party every weekend.
There are those wreaths and crosses all over the side of the road from someone dying from drinking! Sometimes 3 at a time.
I don't drink, so i'll probably get killed by a drunk driver while minding my own buisness.
You can thank the goverment for drinking and driving because the tax is more important than lives!

Very sorry for your loss. I have no patience with drunk drivers, many who seem to be multiple offenders.

I just don't have the words.

How anyone can justify drinking and driving is just beyond me.

When I was 20...nine years ago, I was dating a fantastic girl in her first year of college. She was 18, and an amazing girl, like you describe your daughter to be. She was away with her family for Thanksgiving break, and was killed in a car accident. Her and her older brother were going to the mall for gifts for their parents, and a drunk driver in an old heavy pick up truck knocked them off the road into a ravine under a bridge. They were both killed instantly.

I finally heard what had happened almost a full week after the accident.

I remember dropping the phone, and trying to steady myself, but I was no match for the spinning and racing heart and I just collapsed. Had been with her for a year.

I am not a parent, so I cannot even begin to fathom how you feel losing someone so close. I can however, relate to your pain from a different point of view. We were together for about a year when that happened.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and my condolences go out to you, your family, and all her friends. I hope she didn't leave a boyfriend behind, as I would know his position best, and he'll be hurting a LOT too.
