Auto legend Carroll Shelby, father of Cobra, dies
I know, he is not a Corvette guy, but he was a legendary car guy that pushed the US car companies to make better and faster cars!
He will be missed.

I had a flash thought on this Thursday and brushed it off as being a simple thought that Carroll was getting old / up there in years. I was pretty strong and powerful at the time and I actually had a tear come to my eye. I'm shocked right now reading this. He must have sent a rif through time and space on his passing that I felt. I still can't believe he is gone. One of my all time idols. I hope my Dad in heaven greets him at the gate. My Dad was very fond of him and love him dearly as well. Dad worked at Ford for about 30 years.

Drifting
What a loss to the performance auto industry, not only for his accomplishments, but as a person also.
Mr. Shelby treated everyone with respect and always was so friendly and talkative to me when I serviced his HVAC systems in his house that he used when he was In Las Vegas.
He had a killer huge Rug type Cobra wall hanging art on one of his walls as you walked into his home, is was so cool. and the legendary cobra emblem in tile on the flooring in the entrance.
R.I.P. Mr. Shelby, have fun with all your racing buddies up there

Just out of high school , working at an auto supply house in the mid 60's
I got my first upclose look and ride in a 427 Cobra that the local Ford dealer came in to get some small items with ...Had the chance to drive several Shelby Mustangs and kit Cobras but never the real deal..
Followed his work the whole next half century ...R.I.P. Mr Shelby
