Default Bob Flogaus, Cecil County Dragway frequent driver (1939-2012)

Flogaus, Robert Charles (Bob) of Phoenixville & Wayne Pennsylvania,
passed away on May 15th 2012, with his wife and sons by his side.

Born, Lansing Michigan, 1939. Son of Howard Andrew Flogaus Sr. and Helen Stephan Flogaus. Bob was Predeceased by brothers Howard A. Flogaus Jr. (Jake) and William Stephan Flogaus (Bill).
Beloved husband of 44 years to Lee (nee Nabors), adored father
of David A. Flogaus (Annie) and W. Randall Flogaus (Diane) and Pop-Pop
of cherished grandchildren Danny, Caroline and Emily.

Bob grew up in Wallingford, PA and graduated from Nether Providence
(Strath Haven) High School and Drexel University with a B.S. in
Mechanical Engineering. The Drexel co-op program paved the way to 48
years of employment at Schramm Inc. in West Chester, where he rose to
the title of Chief Engineer of Hydraulics. Bob was a 37-year member of
the Society of Automotive Engineers

Throughout his life he was an active car enthusiast and drag racer
throughout the Delaware Valley. He enjoyed muscle cars in the 60’s,
Mustangs and Buicks in the 80’s and 90’s, and more recently his prized
Corvettes. He was also member of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the
BMW Car Club of America, held in high esteem. Friends from automotive
pursuits gladly enabled a wonderful extended adolescence.
A private celebration of Bob’s life is planned for June 30th 2012.

Arrangements were facilitated by The Hicks Homes for Funerals, PA of
Elkton, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob’s name to Tire Rack Street Survival (a respected National teen driver safety training program) at 201-A Pelham-Davis Circle, Greenville, SC 29615. for further information, visit http://streetsurvival.org/about-street-survival/

Fran, so sorry you had to find out this way. He will be missed.

Thanks for your help with Dad's projects.

He was doing what he loved right to the end, so it could have been worse in many ways.
