I'm so sorry to hear this.
Don lived the kind of life many of us can only dream about. What American man never dreamed of being an Alaskan bush pilot? Don pursued his dreams and lived life on his terms. He did it his way, and made many, many friends along the way.
God speed, Don.
And may God bless you, Mrs. Don. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

WOW, I am very shocked at this news and deeply saddened by it! Debra, my sincerest condolences to you and your family on Don's passing! I absolutely loved to read Don's posts and see his incredible pictures of one of the most fabulous and spectacular places on Earth, Alaska! I conversed with him in a few PM's and could just tell what a genuine, good person he truly was. I am hoping to go on an Alaskan adventure this summer, due in part to Torch's postings and pics. I will always remember him and will miss him. Rest In Peace, Don!

I was out of town and missed this....very sad! He always had something interesting to contribute. Don also enjoyed country dancing and we had exchanged some talk about the decline of good dance halls. My condolences to his family!

Wow, I hate to hear that. I enjoyed Don's posts more than anyone on the forum. Years ago he was coming to OKC for some FAA training and asked if I wanted to get together while he was here, unfortunately we never did.

I cannot believe I missed this thread earlier. I have been on the forum for almost 14 years now and fondly remember his threads and posts over the years.
I am so sorry for your loss. He will be greatly missed.

Donald quietly passed away in his sleep March 2. The cause of death was related to heart disease. I am still in shock and this is very hard to type to you all. Donald enjoyed the forum so much. He was always telling me about the stuff you all were talking about and showing me the pictures.

Here it is 4 years now and I just turned 54...really makes me think about Don ONLY being 60 when he left us. I was in BG last weekend at the annual Bash and stopped by Torch's bench...Told him Hello from the gang here...let him know how much he is missed.
