Default She almost made it . . .

Yesterday at 6 am my mother of 102 yrs, and two weeks shy of her 103 rd, passed in her sleep. She along with my dad are the reason I have had the ability to count amongst my many motorcycles and cars, 6 Corvettes. She ingrained in me many wonderful values, a strong work ethic and, a firm belief in the almighty. Rest in peace mom. God only knows you'e earned it.

Funeral was this morning. Thought I'd get through it without crying. Didn't happen. I was ok till the service started. Then it really hit me that she was gone.

Sorry for your loss now I hope you can rejoice in her life and honor her in a way she would want you to. I would have love to talk to her as she had seen things we only have read about she lived it. My GrandMother was born in 1891 she lived until 1981 she shared more history then I ever learned in school. May The Lord comfort you in your time of sorrow but rejoice her life as she would want you to.

God Bless,

Pops

Default The hardest part.

I wish the bleeding nursery rhymes she used to read to me at bed time would quit playing in my head. And then there all the little golden books of mine she saved and we now have for our granddaughter. It's going to take a bit of time before I will be able to open one and not loose it in front of the little one. It's so very hard to explain to a three and a half year old.

Wife and I are going back up mid January weather permitting. Need to do one last walk through before the estate auction is held. I'm sure there is a lot I missed that the wife will want. She had to stay home as the youngest daughter (41 yrs old) had heart surgery the day before. When it rains it pours .........

Tough 'ol gal. I remember one of the grand kids asking her at her 100th what she was looking forward to. "Not having to pay anymore damn taxes after I die" came the reply along with a sly grin. She was among a growing group of seniors that felt the federal govt. needed to quit taxing those over 100 years of age. She has a point !

Well my mom passed away in 2003 she was 59 and my dad passed away in 2004 he was 66.
My mom used to talk about the people that lived longer, healthy and stronger.....and always said they were made out of good wood.
Your parents were made out of good wood.
Lest take a moment and make them proud of their teachings towards us.
Keep that chin up!

That's where all the pictures of several Corvettes in snow and ice came from. Ironic in that we've decided the next car will have awd.
