New to these forums
Hello to all! I am a new member here and glad to have found these forums. I waited for many years to get a Corvette and finally just got my hands on a 1981.

The engine is in great shape for 90k miles, good even compression. I had to install a new flex plate and starter to get her going. The guy who had it put a starter in it minus the shims and it ate the flex plate. Next I am stripping the interior and sending the seats out to have them done.
It has a one gouge in the right front fender about 12 inches long and a crack in the passenger door. But for 650 bucks I didnt expect perfect

Have been away from the forums and working on the Corvette. Found a truck load of problems with it, but still workable.
Damage hidden under paint, like a hole the size of my head in the door.
Floor broken in 4 places (the fiberglass sections at feet)
Hole in the hood where the air cleaner stud went through it.
Electrical problem preventing normal start with key.
Steering column missing parts for the telescopic function.
That said, it is still worth the work it needs. I have already fixed all the fiberglass damage and am in the process of removing all the paint to check for any other damage like stress cracks and such. Will have a load of pictures soon. fun fun fun
