2014 Corvette Stingray News - August 8 2013
It won’t be much longer until we see the first 2014 Stingray Coupes arriving at our dealership!
The all-new Corvette Stingray is scheduled to arrive in dealerships in late summer/early fall.
Chevrolet will announce when the first Stingrays will be shipped in the coming weeks.
Information just released:
Chevrolet is now accepting orders for the Stingray Convertible models i.e. 1YY67 Convertible and 1YX67 Z51 Convertible today, August 8, 2013.
Chevrolet is now accepting orders for both Stingray Coupes and Convertibles with the optional Competition Sport Seat Option Code AE4 today, August 8, 2013.
Dealers will be able to consense for the new Stingray convertible during the second August consensus cycle beginning August 22. This consensus cycle will also include Stingray coupes. Note that only Stingray dealers can consense and their consensus quantity will be based on their allocations as announced earlier in the year.
Dealers will be able to submit order requests for Coupes and Convertibles against earned allocations from the above mentioned consensus cycle on August 29.
Again it’s important to remember and understand that dealers eligible for allocation of the 2014 Stingray received an estimated production number for the first six to nine months of production when they agreed to the training and essential tool requirements.
Dealers will be able to submit order requests for Coupes and Convertibles with the optional Competition Sports Seat Option AE4 against earned allocations from the above mentioned consensus cycle on August 29. The initial demand for this option is expected to exceed production capacity and as a result dealers can expect constraints during the start-up period.
One other note regarding the Competition Sports Seat; when these seats are ordered with the sueded microfiber inserts, the steering wheel and shifter will also feature sueded microfiber fabric.
In June, Chevrolet announced a Premiere Edition Corvette Stingray Coupe. Yesterday, Chevrolet announced that the Premiere Edition will also be available as a Convertible.
Dealers eligible for an allocation for the Stingray Premiere Edition will receive EITHER a Coupe or Convertible.
The Premiere Edition is a showcase vehicle featuring the Z51 performance package and several Genuine Corvette accessories.
All Premier Coupes will be equipped with the new 7 Speed Manual Transmission and all Premier Convertibles will be equipped with the 6 Speed Automatic Transmission.
The Stingray Premiere Edition Coupe and Convertible will feature a unique VIN ending sequence as well as a special personalized plaque. Production is limited to approximately 500 units each with the Convertible production slightly out numbering the Coupe production.
The Premiere Edition cannot be ordered by dealers. Further, these special editions will not count against the dealer’s estimated production guide number. It is completely up to the dealer’s discretion to sell this special edition when it arrives or at a future time.
Eligible dealers will be able select either the Coupe or Convertible on September 3. The dealers selection does not guarantee award of their desired model. Chevrolet will review the selection made by eligible dealers and then will assign unites base on the dealer’s Corvette sales from January 2012 thru August 2013. The more Corvettes that a dealer has sold, the higher the likelihood their request for their desired model will be honored.
Eligible dealers will be notified of their selection prior to shipment.
Premiere Edition coupes are expected to be shipped by the end of December, 2013.
Premiere Edition convertibles are expected to be shipped by the end of February, 2014.
