It stands for Secondary AIR Injection which pumps air into the exhaust system for a few minutes when you first start the car.
This is so the combustion process on cold start is more complete and the cats heat up faster.
If it's not hooked up you probably have a not ready monitor for OBD2.
You are allowed 1 not ready to pass so you may be ok.
It has nothing to do with the air intake.

Rookie question , on my intake down by the filter on the drivers side there is a rubber hose that runs from somewhere by the frame rail to the air box. It's about 1" or so diameter. Just a prebent rubber hose. I think it's an AIR hose, not sure what that stands for tho. Any ideas or helpful info? I ask because it was unhooked for a while because the rubber gromet holding it sealed to the air box broke.

I want a halltech venom intake, will this hose still need to be hooked up or...?

Also what is this hose for and go to and what does AIR stand for?

    Thanks

    Andrew

Re: your 5/6/14 post pix of the SR1 18/19 set up. I'm upgrading tires and wheels soon, having trouble locating tires for the 19's that match the 18's. What tires are you running? I might go 17/18 or 18/18 just because of availability. Suggestions? Thanks,

What spoiler do you have? I like the subtle looks of it. Do you have any pics from the side? Jim
