Default Colorado Springs area

I'm going to be in the Colorado Springs area over Memorial Day weekend (5/22 to 5/25).

Anything going on? Any fun roads to try out?

Thanks, Ken

Default Road trip

How's the ride from Colorado Springs over to Cripple Creek?

Might be a day trip.

Thanks, Ken

Just did that stretch a week ago in my truck. The roads were decent. Not much gravel build up at all.

Are you talking about a paved road or the gravel (Gold Mine) road?

Default Take Hwy 67 to Cripple Creek

You want to take State Hwy 67 from Divide to Cripple Creek. The dirt road is Hwy 61. That part of 67 is a little rough.

A better trip is to take Colorado Springs to Woodland Park and take a right on Hwy 67, and go to Deckers and straight to Pine Junction on 126. This part of 67 and 126 is quite nice. At Pine Junction, take 285 back to Denver.

Cripple Creek is fine as long as it does not hail or snow up there.
We did the fall color run last year with about 35 Corvettes from Colorado Springs to Divide to Victor to Cripple Creek to Florissant and had no issues. I could not find my photos but the Colorado Springs Corvette Club (CSCC) should have some on their page that you might make out the town and the road as it should be listed on them.

Default Cripple Creek

Sounds good, thanks.

We ran into snow in Silverton, August 2013. Makes for interesting driving in a Corvette!
