Default 1968 Corvette side project

So some have taken some interest into a project I mentioned so I figure I would put it here since the car is local and will be driven once I complete it.

First of all this is NOT my car, I do side jobs for people and this is one of them.

1968 Corvette T-top

I will be removing the non original sbc in favor of a 5.3 LS based engine. We will keep the 4 speed intact as long as it doesn't need much work but that is still in the air.

Along with this swap I will be redoing the suspension, bushings, brakes and what ever needs addressed.

Thanks for creating this thread. I am looking forward to following the progress. Are you using an iron 5.3 or did you find an aluminum 5.3?

It's a iron 5.3, I'm still in the process of determining the condition of the 4 speed or if we can find a t56 for a decent price.

Very nice. Is there room in the C3 trans tunnel for a T56? Been a while since I was under a C3.

This car belongs to a guy in Fort Collins.

Hopefully after its done he will drive the wheels off it again since it had been sitting since 2001.

Got the 4 speed out, seems as one of the three linkages was out of adjustment.

Owner has decided to stay 4 speed and a ton of parts will be ordered soon.

Lots of parts have been ordered and many have showed up. At this point I'm waiting to go on days off and get as much done as possible before my surgery.

Got the engine sitting in the car on the new mounts along with getting the front driver side front corner torn apart doing the bushings, brakes, wheel bearings and shocks.

Have to get as much done on this off shift since next off shift I go down for back surgery, sad I'm having it done at 28.

Hope you have a speedy recovery and a quick return to the project. I'm looking forward to seeing that beast on the roads.
