Houston Guys - Where to Test Drive & Buy
Have had 4 Corvettes (last in 2005), and a member here since 2000.
So I was going to buy something like a GT3, but thinking I ought to at least go drive a Z06, since used ones are less than half the $$$ of a same year GT3.
Where (and who if you know of good salespeople) should I go to for a test drive? I live on the West side.
Thanks!

How sad is it that they can be the same d-bags they were 20 years ago? That is one thing that drove me from Corvettes into Porsche in the first place. Spent lots of time at Landmark and Bill Heard trying to buy a local new car only to end up at Corvettes of Houston buying used ones.

FWIW, I bought my 2010 C6 ZR1 new in Feb. '11 from Ron Carter Chevrolet in Alvin. I spent a couple of months searching
all the Houston area dealers' inventories (websites), researching pricing & incentives locally & nationally, etc.
I was likely as prepared as possible, and that became apparent at the time.
IMO, it's all about knowing what price the market will bear at the time you're ready to strike, and the availability of choices
in the area you've chosen to conduct your search. It shouldn't really matter who the dealer is, within reason...
G-L with your hunt !

Hi, I lived in Houston for 24 years and bought 2 new Zo6's, both from out of state Corvette Forum dealers. Houston dealers are simply the worst for buying a new Vette. I'd suggest doing an auto trader search for used Z06's in Houston area and most likely if there are any you'll be able to test drive. If there are none, I'd try Classic Chev Sugarland ask for Joe in Corvette sales, then Mac Haik, and then Westside Chev. Good luck!
