Default Cruise-In X thank yous and other details ...

Thanks to all who attended in body and spirit!

Moreso, thanks to all who worked hard to make it fun. I'll mention a few names, but there are others who are deserving of thanks, too. You know who they are and I'm sure will join me in giving them a thumbs up.

First, there's Wendell Strode, NCM executive director, who stepped in and pulled our National Corvette Museum out of the ditch a number of years ago and has in that time been phenomenally successful in making the NCM what it is today.

If you have not been to the NCM since the expansion was completed, you need to see the place. It is fantastic!

Wil Cooksey, retired manager of the Bowling Green Assembly Plant and current NCM board chairman, who joined us at the Hampton parking lot on Thursday night and then at the banquet on Friday night.

Thanks also to Mike (Iron Chef) and Roc Linkov, NCM events manager, for putting together a Cruise-In agenda that was fun -- whether you are a cruiser or a racer.

Adam Boca has a new job selling insurance through the NCM, but he and his family continue to be involved with Cruise-In. When I think of toasting Adam and Kelley's engagement several Cruise-Ins ago, it makes me feel old seeing their beautiful daughter at CI.

Thanks to Phil (Joecooool) and Jim (BuckyThreadKiller) for thier efforts as the Forum's NCM ambassadors, but more particularly for their work this year in helping other Forum members honor Michael Monsour, a Corvette brother who was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his bravery as a Navy SEAL.

Roscoe (R.I.B.S.) and his team continue to make our dining experiences while at Cruise-In a special treat and they are the glue that hold us together as a cohesive group while we are in Bowling Green.

Michael (HamptonBG), g/m of the Hampton Inn, who goes out of his way to make sure the Hampton Inn staff makes our annual visit to Bowling Green a pleasant one.

Congratulations to those who have perfect attendance at Cruise-Ins and best wishes for maintaining that record for many years into the future.

Here are some details I mentioned in another thread, but will repeat them here:

Remember the suggestions of Will Cooksey for CI-XI:
  • Bring three friends with you.
  • Do more mingling in the Hampton parking lot and meet some new friends, rather than spending all of your time with the friends you already know.
  • Let the Forum and the NCM know what you liked and didn't like about CI-X and what your suggestions are for CI-XI.

Send your feedback on CI-X and your suggestions for CI-XI to:

If you shot pictures while you were at CI-X and have not already posted them for non-attendees to see, please post them in the following thread and become eligible for prizes:

If you attended CI-X and were registered for the event, you qualify for a CI-X Veteran tag under your user ID. PM me your requests for the tags. Be sure to include the name/s you used to register through the NCM.
