Anybody else pay the $10 for your trophy at the customer service booth and NOT get your award besides me? They wanted my credit card # today, and when I told them I paid the girl cash they didn't know what to say. I think there needs to be a better way of giving out the trophies if you can't be there to pick them up. I understand Carlisle needs a way of getting people to show up on Sunday, because honestly, nobody would show up, but I'm not paying well over $100 for another night in a hotel, and I don't think it's right to charge $10 to mail it to you and make you wait 2 weeks when they could easily just hand it to you then and there.
Rant over.

Couldn't have you gotten it before you left the fairgrounds?

With 134 trophies to go thru to find YOURS, on Saturday, it would be a MAJOR headache for the staff at Carlisle Productions with all the activaty going on.
Historically, the trophies have been available for pick-up Sunday morning, IF you were NOT going to be able to be in the Awards Parade. The $10 shipping charge is PROBUBLY just what it costs to send them out thru UPS or FedEx.

This was my 10th Corvettes at Carlisle. Great event, as always. And another super job -- overall -- by Lance Miller and the entire Carlisle Events crew...!! The show was great for AllVette...and for me.

Uh, the trophies are all the same. They don't have individual names on them or anything, but yes it would be a headache to do that if they were available to pick up there. I know that the $10 is to cover their shipping charges. But I also know that NOT giving them out on Saturday is one way to guarantee that there are people showing up on Sunday.

Unless things have changed since I was honored to have my car chosen, the trophy you receive is indeed personalized with the signature of the "celebrity" that chose your car.

Not this year. I am very honored indeed to have received it. This year it's a very nice metal plaque inside a shadowbox frame, but not signed. Don't think I'm not grateful to get it, I am. I just think there needs to be another way of giving them to those who can't be there to pick it up as an option without paying extra $, especially since they aren't signed this year. Just my opinion.........not worth .2c. (my opinion I mean)

I really don't see it as a ploy to keep you there an extra day. Sunday has historically been the Celebrity Pick Parade. Maybe a solution would be for the celebrity to ask if you will be there on Sunday...if you can't them they could find someone who would be..just a thought...

I would certainly stay to get the award, seeing how only 130 or so were chosen out of the thousands there...kind of neat, but thats just me.

Then on the other hand if you had to leave maybe they could make a note on their slip and then make arrangements for pick up Saturday afternoon...but Jim is so right ..they are pretty jammed with all they have to do in so little time.

Next time just say thank you and pass.....let someone else get it.
