What is the deal with the motel. it is seems to be only .3 miles form t he museum but still has rooms available?

I stayed there for one night back in 2003 during the 50th Anniversary celebration. It was absolutely horrible. Fortunately, our group moved to Nashville the following day. The pool had green scum floating in the water (along with leaves and some pool furniture) and the room I got had only one sheet on the bed.

I had heard it has gone thru a number of managers/owners and one would think that Super 8 would have demanded improvements and a really good cleaning.

You would think that the location would have had people reserving rooms back in the Spring. Guess not a lot has changed.

I have no explanation about their availability of rooms. I stayed there in 2008 when I moved to BG and Super 8 had completely renovated the hotel, so it would have to have been an improvement from the other person's experience in 2003. I did not have any issue with the room, but everyone is different.

Appears to have good reviews. 93% on Expedia from over 400 reviewers, at least that is what I am reading.

Wife and I stayed at the Super 8 across from the Museum. We went over the room and found evidence of Bed Bugs.

bedbugregistry.com, I travel a lot for business, and my wife makes me check this site prior to any stay for myself or the family. It has saved us some unpleasant stays over the years.
