Default Black Hills Corvette Rally

Has anyone been there in the past? Do's and Don'ts? Recommendations for activities? Anything appreciated.

Never been to the Corvette rally, but been to the Black Hills. Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park. I don't remember going to any of the caves, they may be ok, and the gold mine was closed when I got there. The Badlands are interesting and the Souix Indian reservation is desolate.

At one time there was a real fun go cart track in Rapid City. Also went to the dog track one evening (first time for me).

That's about all that stuck with me. Have fun. The driving is great.

Spearfish Canyon is a pretty decent drive, takes about a half hour to get to the "end". There is a restaurant there called Cheyenne Crossing that is worth checking out, the Indian Tacos are great. If you keep driving you can go back through Deadwood, lots of casinos there if that's your thing. It happens a week or two before the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally so most of the touristy things should be open. Driving around Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse is pretty good, and i suppose the monuments are pretty cool to look at as well. The only "don'ts" would be to not be a stuck up corvette owner that doesn't tip well. Typically the service industry there sees the corvette rally as something to endure until the nice, friendly, well tipping motorcycle people get there. It seems that anywhere you go this is the stigma however maybe we can work to change that If you want to know anything else shoot me a message, i've spent a lot of time around there.
