Just looked at the forecast, weather looks miserable at best.

I've never been a fan of "heavy thunderstorms".

Yea I know, I hate the idea too. Seems it almost always rains on the Bloomington weekend.

And I won't even mention the flash flood warnings... Aggravating when you look forward to an event for so long.

It is disappointing. Hopefully it doesn't affect the turn out too badly. With the new venue and location, they really need a strong turn out to keep this going. I think it will be a great place for the event.

I am debating on whether the '73 will come out of the garage though. This might mean the truck gets the drive duty, which is both good and bad. Bad because it means I can pick up more items and fit them in the car for the ride back.

Let's hope the skies are clear at 10am so we can still do our photo op.

Looks like bad weather follows Bloomington Gold where ever it goes. I can remember oppressive heat, rain, hail and mini-bursts while attending in Saint Charles. And a downpour the first time we went to Bloomington (IL).

I think that's called summer in the midwest...

If you decide on a location, please let us know. It is a big event, and the banner will be difficult to find.

Suggest the "Food Court" in front of the pagoda.

Just got home from Indy a couple hours ago. We arrived on Thursday late afternoon just as vendors were shutting down. Took about 1/2 hour to get in the venue on Friday am. They only had 1 ticket taker in the 3 lines. We got to enjoy the venue and vendors for about 5 hours before the monsoon hit. It rained torrential on the drive back to motel. Sun was shining Indy when we left this morning.

Well, it was a little thin in the Corvette Forum parking area. I think we can do better next year if we advertise a little more and let people know about it. But I bet a lot of active members on here are members of clubs that had parking too and they wanted to park with those clubs. No big deal.

Overall, I think the venue was a huge success. True, getting in was a long slow process. Only one line of people taking tickets to get in to the parking area? Then I never had to go to the registration office for any of the rides / drives, but that line always looked long as well.

However, the one long line I did not mind standing in was the Ron Fellows experience. To hit 140+ mph in a Z06 was quick and awesome. That was a big hit. The Autocross was great too with Ride Tech giving out free rides.

The swap area seemed small and pretty picked over by Saturday. At least compared to Carlisle.

I think getting together in the Corvette Forum parking area was the right move, and maybe we can do it again in the future.

Safe Travels everyone,

~GRipp

Nice photos. Say, is that ZR1Cat's 2012 just behind that banner, just to the left? My, why yes, it is!

I am glad I decided to go on Saturday morning instead of Friday as initially planned. No rain Saturday. I think is is because i left my window down. The IMS is great venue for this event, but this event simply is not as magnificent as in years past. The organizers still need to do some tweeking to bring back the spark. I still recall when they were held in Bloomington and Springfield.

Once in the track I couldn't find anyone that knew about the hang tags and Forum parking. I ended up parked on the road course...

Thought it was a generally good event. The venue is great and I hope they stay there. The activities were great for things to do and the judged cars were beautiful. It did seem that the number of vendors and swap meet people were less than there were at Carlisle. Sure it will improve with time.
Glad to meet the forum members and hope more show up next time.

Yeah the line in was a pain. If you didn't know there were three lanes you were stuck on the right till you got close.
Sorry we missed you and hope you had a good time anyway.

Yeah same here, got started late, got stuck in line and then stuck in line again to trade or pass for the club tag. We looked for the banner, but it was way too late. Thanks for putting together the forum club parking That was a great idea and cut down on some of the walking!

EVL - I think I was talking with you in line for the Gold Tour passes. Then I saw your ride getting of the lift at BB for the Gold Laps.

I will say, your exhaust sounded awesome in the stands!!
