I'm planning to go for my first time. Where are some of you booking your hotels since I got in late and everything in Carlisle is booked solid? I'm looking at Shippensburg.

There are still plenty of hotels available. Check www.choicehotels.com , expedia, travelocity, and trivago. Also check out www.daysinn.com and the hotel links on the Carlisle page.
The Days Inn South in Carlisle has rooms available and it's only 5 minutes from the fairgrounds. We stay there every year. It just depends on whether or not you want Wed. to Sunday or Thursday to Sunday or Saturday. A lot of the hotels are going 3 nights only this year since Carlisle Events made the Corvette show 4 days instead of 3.
Try Super8.com too. We've stayed in Scotland/Chambersburg out 81 and it was a nice place. But it's about a half hour drive (easy drive on the highway).

My wife and I will be coming to CAC for the first time. Coming from Wisconsin. Not going to take the corvette this time.
Wondering what we do for parking if we do not have the corvette?
Wondering what the highlights are for newbies?
Thanks in advance.

There is on street parking and some families rent out places in their yards for parking. Not sure if there is parking at the armory anymore or not. Or if the armory is even still there. As for the highlights...........pick up a program at the Guest Services building by the grandstand. It will have the full schedule for everything going on all weekend. And be sure to get a good spot downtown to watch the parade Saturday night.
Wear good walking shoes and use sunblock and a hat because there is VERY little shade there aside from the grandstand. The majority of the food vendors are located behind the grandstand, and this is where most people eat and sit. There's a Subway on site and smaller food vendors all over the grounds. And there's a free tram that runs the grounds that you can hop on and off whenever you want. It's a great way to see most parts of the show and take a break from walking. Be sure to check out all of the barns as well.

There is plenty of parking around our facility, you'll see plenty of neighbors that take in general car parking. Right outside Gate 1 there's a large parking lot (can't miss it!). Up by Gate 5 there's the armory, it fills up quickly on our busier days but is also available. Gate 1 is probably your best bet depending on the time of day you decide to roll in.
The highlights for newbies...
- Walk & talk to the many Corvette vendors - you'll have a blast!
- Check out the many incredible cars (talk to the owners too!)
- If you're looking to purchase a Corvette, don't miss the car corral.
- Chip's Choice in Building T
- NCRS Gallery - best of the best - large tent on the funfield
- Free seminars throughout the weekend (schedule will be out soon)
- Carlisle food - try our food vendors, I love the ham & cheese sandwiches and apple pie along with Chicken Corn Soup by Stolfutzes.
- NCCC Judged showfield - a lot of nice cars on display and being judged.
- Manufactured Midway - check out the latest & greatest of what various manufactures have to offer.
- Installation Alley - watch cars being transformed all weekend!
Plenty more on tap too... burnout contest, beauty contest, GM Team tent with the latest & greatest from GM, so much more!
We're looking forward to having you.
Sincerely,
Lance
PS If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate contacting myself or anyone in our office: 717-243-7855 x115.

We're excited to have you. I'm betting you'll have your Corvette with you in 2017!

You are probably right, we will probably take the Corvette next year. It will be the 50th anniversary I need to work on the wipers, headlights, cooling and general cosmetics.
We are planning on coming in Wednesday and staying thru Sunday. need a few parts as well. is there a swap meet on the grounds?
Thanks!

We did the Veteran's parking last year and it was nice to have that honor. I don't think there is any this year, but there is reserved parking this year which means you can get there at noon and still be guaranteed your spot.
Lance, whoever that young man was that checked the cars for the Veteran's parking last year, he deserves a raise! Nice, nice kid, very respectful and polite, and he RAN HIS **** OFF!! Hope he's there on the grounds again this year.
