I had my car just about 1 month when I was pulled over by my town's finest. I got a warning, but since I was about to get 15% tint all on my windows, I opted to put the plate on to avoid the potential of getting hassled.
That was almost 3 years ago and I haven't been bothered once since then.

Plate on, don't need reasons to get hassled.
You can buy a clear cover that is molded to the lines of the car. Makes it look much better.

With my C4 and C5, I always ran with the plate. What's the big deal?
With the C6 on the other hand . . . is a really poor design. The stock bracket, and most after market solutions look absolutely ridiculous. I haven't put the plate on yet, but I'm buying a bracket with a quick release.

No front plate here for about 2 years and 15k miles. I expect I will get a ticket for it one day. I carry it with me so i can plop it up on the dash if needed.

Got pulled over and got a warning the first time I drove the car. Decided to put the front plate as soon as I got home that day. Don't need to give the cops a reason to pull me over.

Have my plate cover velcro'ed over my front plate. Been pulled over 5 or so times, but only received a ticket once for it. I am always very polite and respectful w/ the LEOs telling them I forgot, and they usually allow me to get out and take the cover off. I actually had one officer tell me "yeah, it looks way better with it on there"!
There are certain areas that I will avoid or take the cover off for though! (e.g- Randolph and RT. 206 in Bedminster/ Peapack area)

Lawrencville cop claimed that he was patrolling that day specifically for no front plate and no seat belts. The second i can get, but no front plate? come on...how many cars but vette's pull that stuff
Obviously some Vette bias down those parts......
PS
Still not putting the plate on... i claim...

Drove into Jersey last summer to go to a little Vette show sponsored by a dealer in Cedar Grove or some town nearby, don't recall exactly.
The local gendarmes set up a stop point on the side street where the show was and were pulling cars over for no front plate.

Had my car since 01, 5 years or so and 50,000 miles, never had a plate on the car and never got a ticket for not having one. I also have 20% tint, still no problems.

3.5 years and at least 7 or 8 tickets at 65 a pop.....even more talked out of (3 within the past 2 weeks).....just a cost of having a nice car

Just put on the Top Flight Repro. removable bracket with the body colored frame. Looks good!
We were talking to the dealer about front plates. He said someone got ticketed for no plate and came after the dealer for not installing it. The dealer puts an inspection sticker on the car. No front plate, the dealer has falsified the inspection.
The dealer paid up.
