Has anybody been stopped by the police about not having a front plate in NJ or are they generally okay about this? Anybody been ticketed? I'm picking up my vette in two weeks and deciding whether to get one of those aftermarket plate holders.

The only time I got pulled over for a front plate was by a cop who was a Vette owner and wanted to see my car. We talked for about 30 minutes.

Having no front plate actually saved me from a ticket with points. I got pulled over near Englishtown on a Sunday morning doing 37 in a 25. Young cop who obviously didn't want to be doing this. When he saw I had no front plate, he gave me a ticket for that--not speeding. I paid the $52 fine and that was it.

yup , got hit in cream ridge right after leaving ecs. gave me a ticket for no front plate and window tint.

i have been pulled over a few times i have no front plate no police have even mentioned it except that 1 d**k head english town cop who pulled me over the night of the first 11.50 class at etown. he was going the other way at night turned around got very wise mouth, how he cant tell what state im from with no front plate. he new enough that i didn't have one i could have been from pa, then he said i can give you a ticket for that tag holder to. i paid the ticket and wont go back haven't been stopped since

Last Dec for a rental day a cop was sitting on the road Atco was on giving us all no plate tickets one at a time. Ended up getting 5 of us I think. I guess the town needed some money.

ive supported a few townships in my day...my front plate still remains in the trunk where it belongs.

Got stopped in Mays Landing one time...Cop was cool as hell after he got my little white lie about being at a car show and forgot to put the plate back on excuse...thank god it was summer at the time

Got pulled over once in Runnemede on Black Horse Pike and was ticketed. It was a safety check and there were looking to hand out tickets. Cop was a real beat-off. Id rather pay the fines than hang some abomination on the front of my C6. IMHO front plate really looks bad on any C6.

I have been pulled over once, years ago in my Z28. I work way too hard for my money to give it to township via fines if I can help it.

I have always run the front plate on my Vette.

Thanks for your repsonses. I asked because I'm moving to So.Carolina in two years where only one plate is req'd so I'll take my chances until then.

not pulled over for no front plate.........so far..

but in general, the cops are pretty cool about no front plate on a corvette.

Nope, never been pulled over for no plate...Guy has to be a real dick to get on someone for that.

I was pulled over the 2nd time I drove my vette so I run with a front plate.

The local cops in my area look for that kind of stuff and once you get pulled over for this they are on the lookout for you.

Yes I run a front plate. They built the C5 with a place molded in front bumper cover for it. If I had a C6 that would be a different story.
