Nice Sunday drive with the Z
Hey all,
Well with all the beautiful weather we've been having how can you not just want to head out and drive? So I decided to take the Z out this past Sunday for a nice run up to Bear Mountain and Harriman State Park. My buddy Brett (guy with the WRX for the CP crew) came along for the ride.
Overall a great day, didn't come across too many amazing roads (our rating scale is pretty tough haha) but some great back roads with awesome scenery and the absence of a police presence made for a great trip.
Started up by Bear Mountain itself, surprisingly Perkins Memorial Drive (to the top of the mountain) was closed! That was a big bummer but instead we drove 7 Lakes Drive pretty much back and forth while shooting off on a few side roads that peaked our interest.
Here are some pics from the day:
Creepy church we came across in the back woods...weird.
Closed road were we convinced a police officer we needed to drive down to find our friends who went fishing
Good times!

Yeah, I know what you mean, bud. A nice drive is always fun. You should have come to philly with us on that midnight run. Give you a chance to stretch the vette out.
And keep the name, there is no shame in being an animal.

We're just joking with Ryan. If he changes it now, he'll confuse our already warped minds.
Great pics, what a great day for some personal time between you and your new vette.

Thanks guys....and gal!
The plate stays! I get a kick out of confusing the hell out of people who see it...I think I'm just going to tell people I work on a farm in Astoria.
Bear Mountain is a nice quick trip, took 45 mins to get there from my place. This weekend I'm heading up through the catskills, maybe even hit up Hawks Nest/Delaware Water Gap on the way back down...this car is a blast heh

Nice Roads
I see you are the proud owner of my favorite C5
Bob....INTRUBL, knows some really nice roads in the Bear Mtn area. He usually does at least one cruise a year ending at the Bear Mtn car show on Wednesday night.
I'm planning a cruise from Middletown to Narrowsburg and then down RT.97 to Barryville for lunch....www.TheCarriageHouseNY.com
After lunch we will travel RT.97 down to Port Jervis.
I'll post this event in the next few days.
that is all

Starting in the Delaware Water Gap near Bushkill Falls, across Dingmans Ferry Bridge, up Hawks Nest, over to CR-55, over to 17 and finally ending in this cool little town Callicoon.
Thanks for all the responses everybody!

Hey man...yeah I know Dennis, he met up with me and some other guys in CT the day I got it. How do you know him?
Definitely enjoying it, hopefully the weather holds off so I can get a run up to the Catskills this Sunday. (TAP Beer Festival FTW)
