Default Asbury Park, NJ

In an effort to clean up the Asbury Park area, they are trying to move one of the few remaining landmarks, the Stone Pony bar. This club was instrumental in the launching of the careers of many great jersey artist, incl. Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny, Bon Jovi :U , take a moment to sign the on-line petition saving this club. Thanks...

They did the same thing to the Chatterbox in Seaside, moved it down and over a few blocks, it'll never be the same ever!

I signed. Spent many nights there. Saw Bruce do one of his first showes (could have been his first show) there. I remember Asbury Park when it was a beautiful city.

Way before the riots. Thats another story, At that time I worked for my dads gas station in Neptune. We were in the middle of the riots.
Started seeing Bruce in about 1967 the year we graduated high school, those were great times. I've got alot of stories of Asbury, Racing on the circut, and selling Bruce a '57 Chevy Conv't.

I can't remember what I had for Lunch but I remember those days like it was yesterday. Great times.

The re-development of Asbury Park has begun. Go look at the new boardwalk north of convention hall, that is just a sample of whats to come. This area will be a major draw for the tourism trade in the next few years. The downtown revitilization zones are looking very good. In regards to the Stone Pony I don't believe it is in the plans of the developers at this time. I'm sure a petition with lots of signatures would help. I would go to the town meetings and voice your concerns. Bruce is as much a part of NJ as Asbury Park. Good luck... :seeya
