The Big One is coming! 50th Anniversary of Dover Drag Strip ,Wingdale,N.Y. AT THE Original Track Location ! Huge car show-race car display-history ...See the latest info & updates at the forum at www.doverdragstrip.com Looking for ALL former Racers ...Hey We're working on getting Rick Moroso to bring his dad's restored Vette that started out at the track .

All Area (Southern N.Y.-Conn.) Corvette Clubs -Duchess-Putnam -Fairfield -Westchester counties,etc...We Can create a Corvette Section JUST for you guys, If you give us a heads up as to How many will attend. Have plenty of time ,but lets get some contact info in to me .We'll firm things up in the spring .BUT mark your calanders and add us to your schedule. Dash Plaques AND with the Right Response ...Bunch of "vette catagory trophys.Can tell you now though...to Keep the "Nostalgic" flavor of the event ,We Will Have a Year Cut-off... '76 -"80 max.

For all those who don't wish to wade through the Dover 50th thread, the date looks to be July 16 2011.
I've never been to that track, but it looks like a good cruise/show location.
It's going on my calender!

* ONE DAY EVENT -Sat. JULY 16,2011 -SAME DATE 50 years ago ,of the Sunday, it held Grand Opening.
*Regular Car Show -with rods,customs,bikes,rat rods,hippie vans,street machines,muscle cars,haulers ,restored & Original , (Top 50 Best of show Trophies )-dash plaques .....seperate section for Race Cars And Section For DOVER CARS on the old Track (as we survey and rope off) ...just a field now.
* HISTORICAL DOVER EXHIBIT: All of Brian Marasco-Track Historian's complete 'museum' plus displays covering photos, clippings , personalities ,stars that appeared ,,,meet and greet the former racers (*Tent & Chairs) Movies on tv's ...'A Walk through the past"
* Swap Meet for non-commercial private sale used auto parts and related memoriabilia & crafts (locals welcome)
*Commercial Vendor section -for approved sales of just about anything (locals welcome) community involvement
* Non Profit Vendor Section -Anything from Girl Scout Cookies to church bake sales ( more community freindly)
*Food Vendors
* LIVE ENTERTAINMENT ...Band!
* No burn-outs-racing allowed
*Shut Down area Closed to any vehical activity
*"CACKLE-FEST at Pre-determained time... "THE RUMBLE RETURNS to The Valley" ...as we fire up any thing that runs at one time -open headers of course!
* HIstorical Marker Placement and dedication ceremony
*Dignitaries invited-Full Media coverage-TV-Magazine And Newspapers
*Much More posted at our Topic on this daily-weekly .Its Really Growing!
....Might Even have Camping available ...Major Sponsor Search on Now...
