The mall, the capital, the national zoo, the Smithsonian museums, and the white house as long as you don't try to burn it down

The white house you may have to book a tour, just check on line.

The Smithsonian Institute is a collection of various museums on the mall between the Lincoln Memorial and the capital building. Some of the best in the world - and they're free. Another one of my favorites is the Udvar Hazy museum located at Dulles Airport. Very cool aero museum complete with an SR-71.

What they said....besides just seeing the city itself. Make a list to make sure you see what you want to see. I've lived here for 20+ years and still have not seen it all!

Maybe you should plan a really long trip or a few trips! LOL!

the arboretum, the largest saltwater estuary in the world aka the Chesapeake bay. While in Maryland/ DC you gotta try native blue crabs. Check out the Basin and washington/lincoln/ jefferson monuments/memorials.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial will take your breathe away - all those names...over 58,000 of them.
