I installed a RST clutch 3000 miles ago. It works perfectly, however, there is a slight shudder in first gear. Do you have enough experience with this type clutch to know if this is normal. Thax.

I got the new steel flywheel that came with the new clutch kit ...RST # 6912-07; I did not re-use stock flywheel....wt of flywheel is 30 lbs. I installed all new components in the clutch system from A to Z.

ok, so sounds like you got the billet steel flywheel which should help reduce what you are feeling. Describe the shudder. Is it just when the clutch is engaging, or are you still getting chatter?
You shouldn't be having any of those issues... did it have these issues from the start? Or did it start happening afterwards? Also who did the install and was there any chattering before the RST install?

Happens just initially for a second when clutch engages then goes away. Happens in no other gear and in no other circumstance; only in first from dead stop.
I never had issues like this before the new clutch was installed only after new installation.
I was basically told this is normal for a very high performance aftermarket non-corvette clutch.
I have confidence in the installers and that is what they told me, although I wanted it to be perfect.
Mine does the same thing. But then again, mine still has a little chatter, but it has only been in the car for about 8 miles so far, so no time for anything to bed in
