Here is an update on the Shakedown Cruise from Carol Santacross, organizer of the Shakedown...
Well, as expected, we have a lot of interest in our "SHAKEDOWN CRUISE 2012”, celebrating our 50th anniversary.
I have heard from 2 people in Connecticut who are coming, and some Corvette Club of Rhode Island members are attending. I am sure that Eastern Mass Corvette Club and other clubs will be joining, also.
Jim Johnson and I have discussed a rain date of Sunday, May 20th although, hopefully, we will not need it! If it’s a light drizzle on May 6th, chances are it may change on the Cape so we’ll just have to wait and monitor the weather forecast. Everyone will be notified via email and on the Corvette Forum and the Corvette Action Center if the May 6th date has to be changed. Those notices will be sent as soon as possible based on the forecast. You can also contact me if you are unsure.
Another heads up is bridgework being done on the Sagamore Bridge right now. I don’t expect too much of a delay going to the Cape, but you may want to explore some options to get over the the Bourne Bridge on the way home.
Either way, we will be lookin’ good in traffic!! We have a great ride planned from the beginning of Cape Cod to the very end of the Cape on scenic Route 6A, with a nice stop at the National Seashore and then on to Provincetown on the shore route. We will parade through Provincetown Center, ending at Michael Shay’s Restaurant on Bradford Street (they have parking). After lunch, we have an optional trip planned out to Race Point. Then, on the way home, some of us may be stopping at the Truro Winery.
Be sure to have a full tank of gas and a good sense of humor!!
Thanks.
