Today is the meet guys....The Famous Nathans on Central Ave is closing, after all these years of car meets being held there. Its DunZo for Nathans. I'm 30 years old and i started going at 17 with my first car. My brother is 42 and he always went and raced on Central back in the Day. Just good ol' memories.....Spread the word and try to come through. Thanks!

Yea..word is they are tearing it down and putting something else in its place...dont know for sure if today is closing day..someone said it was but you know the whole Telephone game.

If I had a little more than 6 hour notice I probably could have gotten a bunch of people to attend.

I went yesterday before going to Mom's. Had to get my last hot dog and fries!! Many people there taking pictures and buying food. Yes, very sad that they are tearing it down but word is that a new plaza is being built and there will be another Nathans on a smaller scale. But it doesn't take away the memories of cruising Central Ave.....

I am the guy that issues the demo permits in Yonkers, the only thing so far is that they filed for the permits months ago, but no activity since then,

Nathan's did that about 40 years ago here in Oceanside. Moved the restaurant from the middle of thweir property and then built a strip mall on the rest of the property.
