Okay a week went by since the last post (Jay would have closed this place faster than a top fuel car), so I'm stopping in for a beer and some discourse.
Carlisle in two weeks...... anybody goin'? (I have to, the Wife likes it).

I'm trying to get Bob and Roger to meet this weekend for breakfest somewhere, I hope to make a bi-weekly thing. At least get some of the group doing something.

I fly R/C airplanes in Lumberton (a lot!), and the club field is just across the street from Allen's Airstrip and auction where Bi- Monthly the full size airstrip hosts a fly-in and breakfast. Here's a link to Allen's and his father Jack Allen's museum maybe for a target for one of these?

[QUOTE=Ol'55;1590269473]I may be able to squeeze this into my busy retired schedule, but wold hope for a brunch rather than the middle of my night breakfast time. And I would not consider attending anything with the Bi- label atteched.

Thanks, I'll suggest it. Bob was talking about a place in Jackson but I really want to take a ride, then eat/meet.

The pancake breakfast/fly-in is the second Saturday of every month from 8am to 11am in one of the hangars. It's a grass strip, out in the farm country, with full scale airplanes (Stearman rides) and our R/C flying field just across the street as a bonus. Plenty of parking, and would be nice to have different spots throughout the calendar of these get togethers.

One of the guy's family is sick so he can't make it, the other gutis in Florida for two weeks. Maybe I'll work on one of the trucks or the deck, or the pool, or the house, or......I think I'll look for a destination and go for a ride. (btw, Dave sold his car so another racing buddie isn't availble)

Aren't any of you [Bar] flies attending Corvettes @ Carlisle? I know it doesn't change much from year to year, and I sure don't want to buy anything for the cars, but it has become something of a tradition for the Wife and I as it was car shows, and Carlisle events that Ruthann and I did together back when we were dating, and not married (pre 1880's). One of the main reasons that I go each year is the Stolzfus breakfast sandwich, that and to send a Corvette friend in Texas a CAC tee shirt that has been going on for many years now. Trust me the sandwich is well worth the 3 hour drive.
That, and there are a lot of other plastic cars there to see, and talk to.

Everyone must be on vacation or something? As a side note I think it's hotter this month (September 2015) than it was all July and August. It was good to get one of the Vettes out and up to Carlisle, but now it's back in the garage and under the cover (like this [BAR] thread.)
