Park Slope Chevrolet Brooklyn, New York
Greetings Noreasters, I was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and later moved to Oklahoma City. My 1966 Corvette coupe was purchased in Wichita, Kansas (130 miles from me) but was originally delivered to Park Slope Chevrorlet in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Weird .... yes. Therefore, if anyone has any dealer items (license plate frames, keyfobs, etc.) from Park Slope Chevrolet I would be interested in reuniting some o' that dealer swag with the old 'Vette. Let me know what you have.

Back in February of 1965 I purchased my brand new Impala Super Sport Coupe from Park Slope Chevrolet on 4th Avenue. I’m from Bensonhurst. Sorry I can’t help you. Good luck finding what you're looking for.

Thanks for your input guys, I was back in NYC (visiting from Oklahoma City) last month with my lovely bride for our tenth wedding anniversary. We stayed in Chelsea and ran with the Manhattan Nike group over the Brooklyn Bridge into the King's County. What happened ? It looks like Brooklyn in the new Manhattan ! We had to cross back over into Manhattan to afford a cup of coffee.

Pretty cool...I live in Park Slope, and have for past 10 years. I didn't know there ever was a PS Chevy dealer. There are some thrift shops around on fifth avenue, I'll keep an eye out for you. If you come across anything online that's in the neighborhood and you need a set of eyes local, happy to help.
Best of luck and enjoy your new wheels!

Wish I could help, I was born and raised just 5 blocks from Park Slope Chevy. Also the Mid-School I went to was just 200 feet away from the front door. My dad got all his cars from there. As a young teen growing up, my friends and I would go down there and watch the new model year roll off the trucks. I'm from Staten Island and I go to a lot of car shows and swap meets in the New York and Jersey area. Come spring, if see plate frames or anything with Park Slope Chevy on it, I'll pick it up for you....

I just returned home to Oklahoma City from New York City to run your terrific NYC Marathon and spent quite a bit of time and mileage running up 4th Avenue. We actually rented a floor of a Brownstone in Boerum Hill and wow !, Brooklyn is fantastic ! I did a little family history search and found my family's former brownstone at 238 Garfield Place, right down the block from former General Motors CEO Alfred P. Sloan's mansion. I don't forsee myself ever being able to afford my family's old home, it's probably pushing $2 mil now.

I was born and raised in Park Slope, 11 street and 5 ave. And when I got married in 1975, we could have got a house there for $44,000 dollars. But it wasn't a great area back then and we didn't want to raise kids there. Today the area made a big turn around and the homes start at 2.5 mil.

I was a mechanic working at Park Slope Chevy '72 & '73. (It later became Paul Chevrolet -- top salesguy bought it from the owner.) I have one of the dealer ID stickers (Chevrolet badge shaped, reflective, with "Park Slope Chevrolet" printed on it... BUT... it's pasted to the lid of my roll-around toolbox. I seriously doubt I could remove it without ruining it. If I get a chance I'll try taking a hair dryer to it one of these days. I also have the sewn-on, embroidered service patch we wore on our shop uniforms. They issued new ones at some point and I cut the patch off one before I turned it in. Doesn't say Park Slope however, just "Super Chevrolet Service."
I owned a '65 2-dr Impala which I bought used from one of the salesmen (which of course I rebuilt, swapped Power Slide for a Turbo 400, cam, headers, Thrush exhaust...) nice sleeper. Also owned a '61 stripped down Vette.. only thing I did to that was swap 3 -speed for as 4 speed, stiiffer suspension roll bars, shocks. No performance options, I just liked to drive it fast around corners.
BTW, we had a mechanic there named Stewie Moss who had a very HP 1970 Vette. He'd been there for maybe 5 years before I arrived and was there for a few after I left. '65 is probably too early for him to have been there, but if he was, you can bet he would have taken any Vette or Camaro that came in on his watch for a... "test drive."

Still ready to load up that huge glovebox with some Park Slope Chevrolet gear, In the meantime, I was able to commission a "restoration" on this long-held low-numbered State Of Oklahoma license plate, the number had been registered to the '66 for about eleven years now, but the final plate is now finished.
