Windy day for sure.....
We hung out for awhile and then rolled down to secaucus to the three cool auto cross events going on today..

These three separate events going on at the meadowlands all on the same day was insane.
Very cool.

I got there late, but there were still some decent cars to look at. Started the day at the Nam Knights show in Carlstadt. Decent showing there as well, but both seemed light. I think the "chance" of rain kept a lot of people home.

I was set up in the swap meet, and the wind was a real pain in the neck!
I think your right about the "chance" of rain, effecting the turnout. Traffic in the swap meet seemed light, and one of the members from Class Glass, told me that they down about 100 cars from usual.

I was thinking about going. Woke up Sunday morning turned on the weather, they called for a chance of rain and it was windy as hell. So I stayed home and did some yard work.

I know the owner of the Sunoco Blue 69 Camaro RS, image #96 (8 pictures from the end). If your not familiar with it, it's a very interesting, and somewhat famous car. It was built by Car & Driver Magazine in 1969, with the help of Mark Donohue and Penske Racing.
The introduction of the 70 LT-1 powered Z/28, had been delayed until January 1970. Car & Driver wanted to know what a LT-1 powered Camaro was going to be like, and didn't want to have to wait for one, so they decided to build their own! As a basis for the conversion, they acquired a new 69 RS/SS, 350, 4 speed Camaro, with steering, brakes and air. From what I remember, the car was taken to Penske's shop, in Newtown Square PA, where a new crate 350 LT-1, was dropped into it. They also upgraded the suspension, added a set of American Racing 200S wheels (the daisy style wheels, that were found on many Trans-Am racers, though Penske's Camaros actually used Mini-Lites), flared the fenders, and shot the car in Sunoco Blue, with typical Penske yellow pinstripes.
Car & Driver dubbed the car, The Blue Maxi.
The car first appeared in Car & Driver, during the summer of 1969, where they did a full road test on it, along with details of the build up. From what I remember, the car was given away, in some kind of contest, and Jerry (the current owner) bought it from the winner in 70 or 71.
The car is regularly driven to shows around north Jersey, which I think is fantastic, when you consider the history attached to it!
