Default Pretty big car show ( Jersey)

2014: Lentini Auto Salvage presents the fourth annual Flemington Speedway Historical Society Car Show, Saturday, October 18, from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM. South County Park on Route 179 South, Lambertville, New Jersey is the venue. The site of the Hunterdon County 4-H and Agricultural Fair, it is near the intersection of Routes 202 and 179 in Ringoes, New Jersey. You’re invited, don’t miss the big one!

FSHS thanks all who have attended and supported our previous shows, especially the 700-plus exhibitors who participated last year, when we saw all types of show cars, plus antique race cars, modern race cars, trucks, motorcycles, military vehicles, tractors and farm equipment. "1,000 show cars in 2014!" is our goal.

Suckerpunch Suzie with special guests will be performing in the afternoon and into the evening. The party cover band will also emcee FSHS’s resurrection of a fabled Flemington Speedway promotion, “Purple Night.” $500 dollars in door prizes and trophies will be awarded for the best costumes.

Spectator admission is $10 per carload. Show car registration is $10. Vendor registration starts at $25 outside, $10 inside. More details are available on the

So is the "free" parking a donation or just going to be free? Or you had no pull?

Flemington Speedway Historical Society, Inc. is a public charity recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non profit. FSHS’s mission is to preserve, protect, and document the history of the Flemington Fairgrounds and Speedway. Event proceeds benefit FSHS and its partner in the promotion, the Hunterdon County 4-H and Agricultural Fair.

I can see paying for the show if I were showing, costs of trophy's that I'd want to win and everything that goes along with it. I've been in many shows in the days of lifted trucks and always had to pay to be in the shows. As a spectator I can't see paying, and from being in many shows the shows that charged to get in had very poor attendance and they never lasted too many years. I can afford $10.00 but I can also go to other free car shows and walk around.

Just my .02, Not $10.00

Yea, that was my point as well unless it was to raise money for sick kids or something. Let spectators in for free, charge vendors money for space, have a 50/50 or something. Sell t-shirts, etc.

having seen many places in nj start forcing venues to get a permit, hire emt's, hire security, and so on, ten bucks seems like a fair value for a family outing all afternoon.

I can only fit one additional passenger in the Vette, it's not like the old days at the drive in where we could stuff many in the truck, we don't even have a trunk!

How many cars are expected? Is there enough there (food, vendors, etc.) for the show to be worth the price of admission? I don't really care about the music.
