I'm still thinking that even if they do pass it, it won't affect car shows this year.

IF the ordinance passes, you won't be allowed to park at any city owned lot. Only private lots if the owners allow it, and NO on street parking.

Here is the latest:

Here is an update on the Ocean City Fall Cruise, Endless Summer via my friend Mike

"From Bob Rothermel:
The new ordinance is not in effect, but probably will be within the week. After years of proliferation of car trailers in a town that does not allow boat trailers or oversized vehicles to park on city streets, a change had to be made. There will be provisions for trailer parking at the Park and Ride in West OC as well as private lots around town. However, we need to wait and see. Regardless, we believe the event is strong enough to encompass the change. .WC

information thanks to Wayne Cannon, 92.7 WGMD"

Now, this is concerning the Endless Summer Cruise In later in October and after the Corvette weekend. But I imagine the same will apply for Corvettes if it passes. Trying to keep you all up to date.

What is its size and exactly where is the park and ride lot in West OC?

Thanks for keeping us updated.

Looks like the ordinance is passed and may be in effect for October.

As for the Park and Ride lot, it is outside of Ocean City across the bridge on Rte 50 across from the outlet mall. Parking has always been free there. It's pretty large.

Here's the Park and Ride off of Rt.50 just before the bridge into O.C.

Yeah, everyone is going to be okay parking their trailers nowhere near where they are staying

As much money as these events bring in for OC and every year they make it harder to enjoy.

Agreed. Or from what I understand, there may be private lots that will allow trailer parking........for a fee. I wouldn't mind it if it was on 100th St. since that's still in OC and it's easy to just ride up there and check on it. Plus it's across the street from the Clarion. I don't get why they can't just let the trailers park there and charge to park rather than drive out of town to your trailer.
They're shooting themselves in the foot. The one guy in the article said his hotel will lose 90 rooms in May if it passes. Not good for anyone concerned. Plus you can't smoke on the beach or boardwalk now, they have signs that say "no swearing", there's a noise ordinance on the boardwalk, etc. They keep passing stupid rules. Noise ordinance? If I was in the parade this year I'd smoke a big *** cigar and rev my engine the whole way up the boardwalk in protest.

I do not know about this, that lot is far from where we are staying. Please let us know any information regarding private lots within OC, I certainly do not mind paying a fee?

A friend does not want to leave his trailer that far from where they are staying and may not come. He had planned to arrive Wed and depart Sun with his wife and parents.

OC is not crowded in mid October and many of the side streets and parking lots are empty. Plus this show has a limited number of participants compared to the other shows. It's a shame these issues are not taken into consideration.

Please keep us updated.

Thanks

I wouldn't park my trailer there! Hopefully private lots will open up!

My wife just spoke with one of the City Coucilwomen for Ocean City.

It's official.........

The trailer parking ban will NOT begin until next year. So everyone is good to go for this year at least.

We stay at the Holiday inn at 1701 Atlantic Ave. I like it there because they have parking under the building, out of any lousy weather. Plus it's on the boardwalk/the Corvette parade goes right by there.

Hi. I'm USA1 427's wife and I work for OC. The Clarion is on 101st St in North OC. The Carousel is close by at 118th St., and the Princess Royale on 90th is very nice as well. Carousel is outdoor parking, the Princess has a parking garage. You can try the Bonita Beach on 81st. Under hotel parking and their pool is elevated above the parking on Coastal Highway which makes a great place to watch the cars on Coastal driving around.Another option closer down towards the boardwalk is the Holiday Inn on 67th. The Quality Inn Suites on 33rd is parking garage. The Grand on 21st St has a parking garage, is on the boardwalk, and is easy in and out.The Holiday Inn Suites on 17th on the boardwalk does have under hotel parking, but not all is under hotel. There is also overflow parking for that hotel across the street.
I've stayed at all of those hotels and recommend all of them.
If you go to www.ocean-city.com go to the search box on the right side of the page and scroll down. Don't enter any dates here, but click on "search all rates now". On the page it brings up, you'll see a search box on the left. Enter your dates there to bring up the hotels available on the dates you want in October. Hope that's not too confusing.
I hope that helps you some.

I've stayed here before as well. It's in between 17th and 18th and as mentioned is right on the boardwalk. Not all of the parking is under hotel, but is usually pretty available this time of year.

We stay at the Best Western @ 56th street Bayside. Real good spot to hangout. It's rigth at an intersection, with good parking, and the cops tend to hang up by Hooters (120th) or down on the Inlet run 1st through 25th. We are right in the middle and catch a lot of action every year

Good group of people that we see for each show for the last 5 years

FYI, Hooters on 120th St. is no more. You'll have to go to the boardwalk to get your wing fix........if they're still open.

Yeah Pops and I will be down there with both Corvettes. Are you bringing one of yours down?

The OC brew pub is awesome, Wayne. Nick's Pizza Pub next to that is good as well.

Hoping for good weather
