Default Toys for Tots RESCHEDULED!

Due to the sever forecasts this weekend of heavy rain, high winds and high tide back bay flooding (high tide is 12:24 and the event is on the back bay) we are not going to have the Toys for Tots Event this weekend.

We have rescheduled this event for next weekend, October 10th.

We are working with vendors now to see what adjustments need to be made, but we are putting it all together, so please change you calendars and head down next weekend!

Stat tuned to our Toys for Tots Information page for more details.

Dave

Is it true that they allow you to take your car to the limit on these runs? I've seem some pretty amazing videos of previous years where guys video themselves going 200+ MPH on the Atlantic City Expressway...Just wanna know?

Yes! By all means YOU should be the first in line and show the pace.

That was stopped by folks posting , just as you just did here rubbing the powers to be's nose in it. The ACE isn't closed off, and the Troopers are out along with Atlantic City's motorcycle police and they WILL ticket you for infractions. Take it to the track. NJMP is just a short drive from the area.

Yes the Expressway is open to traffic and other cars will be traveling with the Corvettes. However there will be a Corvette staging area at the Farley Rest Stop on the expressway for us to gather ahead of the run. We will depart as a group around noon and caravan down to Bader Field and deliver the toys.

The event may have lost some of it's uniqueness with the Expressway being closed, but in the name of safety it was the right thing to do for everyone involved. But in the name of the charity it's still a must do event, 500+ Corvettes actually on the road driving instead of just sitting in a parking lot all day is a great sight to see and it's all to benefit area children so they have a better Christmas morning.
The safety issue now is watching all the folks in the "normal" cars on the Expressway taking video as all the Corvette drive by.

My trunk, yes I have a trunk, it's a C5 Z06, is packed with toys and I will be meeting at Farley and then onto Bader Field. Christmas in October!

Hope you all take some great pictures as I will miss the drive from Farley Plaza to Kerbeck this year

I will show up later in the afternoon to drop off toys. This event is all about the Corvette community coming together to help poor children enjoy Christmas and not about us.

Ol'55's post tells the whole story, and Zipty reminds us what this event is for.
