Captree, Long Island when does the switch from OBI happen?

Is that place still drawing a good crowd? I haven't been up that way on a Sunday in a very long time. I thought the crowd was thinning out at that event due to the police activity.

The police are fine,never an issue. At obi if you not there by 7a.m. you won't get a spot to park any where,might as well stay home.At Captree there are three parking lots so getting there early is not necessary. Captree was open for us (no charge) this week but alot of fishmen's vehicles + alot of fishermen vehicles and a Corvette show at Atlantic Chevy(+I left early) so I can't tell you how many cars showed up.On a good Sunday we can fill about 2 1/2 parking lots,so still going strong.

I run a front plate on my car, so I never had an issue with getting pulled over as you come off the bridge on Captree Island or on Ocean Pkwy. Looking back, I guess the only people that were complaining were the ones that don't run front plates...you got to pay to play!
