Folks -- a new Forum member from Texas is interested in buying the "DSOM C6," which I have on Autotrader and the Forum (which is where he saw it). Anyway, he asked if I could provide a few references from Forum Members who know me and the car. Well, funny thing is, I know a lot of folks from CCND and some of the other clubs, but I do not know who is active on the Forum among them. So, I thought, how about just posting in the Northeast to see if anybody knows me, knows my car, and would be willing to talk to this young man.

My picture is in my profile, so please take a look -- and let me know (this means you, FOXMO ) if you know me and would be OK doing this. I've been very open in disclosing all the car's warts (how else do you get a C6 under $17K?) so nothing at all to hide.

He will want a Forum member to check out the car for him; that should probably be somebody who does NOT know me...

To the Texas Forum member: I can certainly speak to Fred's character as I have known him thru our club and worked with him on Corvettes for Chip for many years. He's a good guy who will tell you the truth on his cars condition.

Thanks for the posting Fred, I'm just now seeing this.
To all, I am the intrested Texan Fred is referring to. Based on the conversation Fred and I had a few days ago, I do feel he is a stand up guy, but you can never be too careful.

Are there any members that would be interested in taking a look at his car for me?

I know Fred and the car, so I am probably not the impartial guy you want looking at the car. That said, Fred is as honest as they come, so I'm sure he hasn't held anything back. Best of luck!!

Josh has retained a local mechanic to inspect the car.

Thanks to my Forum pals for verifying that I do exist and the car is pretty much what I've said it is -- and thanks to volunteers who do not know me who were willing to take their time to look the car over.

It will be good for Josh and me to get an objective review of the car's condition. I am convinced that, while the DSOM C6 is not perfect, there is no better C6 MN6 Z51 in America in this price range...

We shall see...

I ended up hiring the guys over at www.LemonSquad.com to do the inspection.
They were very thorough and I was very pleased with the results.

Echoing Josh, thanks to all who helped make this go a bit easier for both of us. Shipper picks up the DSOM C6 tomorrow and Josh will be enjoying it next week.
