Default SlipStream PA Half-Mile Media (WARNING VERY PHOTO HEAVY)

This past weekend marked the successful completion of our first half-mile event at Mid-State Airport in Philipsburg, PA. We've made advances in our timing system that are built-to-purpose for true half-mile racing with all the data that you racers wants to see. One run gets you 60', 1/4 Mile ET & MPH, and 1/2 Mile ET & MPH.

There are hundreds of photos in process, but here are a few of my favorites. Check out https://www.facebook.com/SlipStreamRE/ for more:

July 23 & 24th, with public registration going live in about 3 weeks. Keep an eye on the FB page to find out first. ECS will be joining us again as our partner sponsor in making this possible.

How much does it cost to enter such an event? Also, what type of prerace safety check is there? Any special requirements different from a 1/4 mile or HPDE type event?

Default Highly recommend attending...

I attended this past event and had a blast. The venue, timing system, variety of cars made it really fun. I highly recommend any of you who want to stretch the legs of your cars to attend the July event. Here are a few pictures of my car - and yes, they offer a burnout box for us RWD cars. AWD cars have the advantage, but RWD cars with traction management (TT Viper - Sal Patel) have a shot!

Car Trans type 60 ft 1/4 ET 1/4 MPH 1/2 ET 1/2 MPH

GTR AWD 2.125 10.31 157.23 15.287 97.88

GTR AWD 2.514 11.212 157.12 16.246 194.13

TT Viper RWD 1.96 9.925 157.34 15.016 190.19

GTR AWD 1.626 9.631 153.79 14.895 188.6

GTR AWD 2.662 11.257 155.27 16.454 188.44

Vette RWD 2.538 12.797 124.79 18.595 181.15

TT Supra RWD 2.589 12.326 139.31 17.856 179.15

Glad you had fun John! It definitely is a different environment than going to a drag strip, but until they catch on and start extending tracks, this is where street-car racing is going. I like to think that it adds a different challenge to something that was relatively stale 5-10 years ago
