Calling Philly Area Corvettes-WMMR Preston & Steve Food Drive Thurs 12/1
I just wanted to extend an invitation to any Corvette owners to join some other area Corvette owners on a fun night out to support a great cause. For those that listen to the Preston & Steve morning show on 93.3 WMMR you already know what this event is all about, if not read on.
Preston & Steve's Camp Out For Hunger
It's the largest food drive in the Country and it is hosted at the Xfinity Live parking lot in South Philly for an entire week. They accept non-perisbale food items as well as pet food and all the donations stay in the Delaware Valley. And they calculate the group donations by weight, so if you are buying food, buy heavy food!
My local Club is meeting on Thursday December 1st in the evening at 6:45pm in Deptford, NJ at the Forman Mills parking lot (former K-Mart) at 1140 Hurfville Road near the Deptford Mall. We will depart the parking lot at 7pm and cruise over as a group to the Xfinity Live location. They have a drive thru donation set up and after our donation there will be area parking available near by so we can hang out at the event if you wish too. They have plenty to see and do, including carnival games/rides, celebrity appearances and all kinds of merriment!
So post up if you are able to attend and for the good of the cause, please share with anyone else who would like to attend even if they don't drive a Corvette.
And the host of the show Preston Elliot is the proud owner of a Velocity Yellow C6 Convertible so he is excited to hear that his fellow Corvette owners will be making a group donation. And for those that listen to WMMR, you may have heard that on Wednesday night two other car groups are making donations. Jaxon's Jeep Club (another WMMR DJ) will be there along with the Del-Val Chapter of the Porsche Club of America, so let's make a BIG group donation on Thursday night. This would be the first time for a Corvette Group Donation, so let's try and beat out the Porsche and Jeep guys!
