I noticed some postings for clubs in Hampton Roads and Virginia Beach, but they are 3 or 4 hours from me. I know VA is in the SE region, but I live about 15 minutes from the WV state line, and about 30 minutes from MD. So I was wondering if there are any clubs / groups near me.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

There is a corvette club in Frederick, MD that Mike Furman from Criswell Chevrolet is a part of. They participate in two Corvette only car shows that I'm aware of every year. Their held at Shab's Row and Westridge Shopping Center.

If you're looking for a fellow Vette owner to go cruising with just let me know. I plan a Spring and summer cruise with some of my friends. The group is a mix of Vettes, a Mustang, and a Challenger. We take local day trips along scenic roadways and stop somewhere to eat along the way.

This April, I'm planning a trip thru Berkeley Springs and Paw Paw, WV. Smooth, winding roads with some nice scenic views.

Thank you for getting back to me. Quite a coincidence that you mentioned Criswell - I was looking pretty seriously at a Vette at Criswell, but found another one that was set up closer to what I wanted.

I have found a few clubs in northern VA, but the closest is still an hour away from me. I like your plans for taking some day trips with some friends and your Spring and Summer cruises. Let me know when you plan an upcoming day trip or a time when we could meet.

You might want to check out the Northern Virginia Corvette Club (www.nvcorvetteclub.com) and the Old Dominion Corvette Club (www.olddominioncorvetteclub.org) to see if they fit your needs.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have checked them both out as well as Piedmont CC, based in Waynesboro. Each one is an hour or so from me. Right now I am comparing my schedule with each group's respective scheduled meetings and events. Also checking to see if there would be a problem with me joining more than one of the clubs.

Yes, I ended up joining Old Dominion Corvette Club. It is based in Sterling, and most events are held about 50 or so miles from Winchester. For a few years some members were starting to come up to Winchester to take part in the Apple Blossom Parade. Of course that didn't happen this year. The Club is a traditional participant in Leesburg's 4th of July Parade and also has an annual gathering at the La Grange Winery near The Plains. The Club also sponsors the Annual All Corvette Cruise-in in Manassas, which draws Vettes from across the region.

I can highly recommend this club. A bunch of very nice folks.

I ended up signing up yesterday. Hope I can make the first event. Maybe we can cruise up there nextime.

Someone needs to start a club here. I'm in Stephens City and there are 4 Corvette owners ( including me) in my neighborhood alone.
