With Great Sadness - Passing of Roger Roguewave
It is with great sadness that I am posting the passing of Roger (roguewave).
Although not involved in corvette forum as much lately there was a time that you could find Roger at any corvette outing. He loved the car (owning a C3, C5 and C6) and the people associated with it.
Over the years Roger and I had become very good friends. We meet through corvettes as many of us have. We realized that we only lived a few miles from each other and that was the start to years of HPDEs, traveling to racing venues and lately photography. He encouraged me to go do things while I had the opportunity and the means to do them. This is how he lead his life because he knew our time here was limited.
Unfortunately we didnt know how limited. He will be missed by many and I will miss being able to call my friend and say hey do you want to get lunch, go do some photography or fly to see this race, but most of all I will miss his subtle way of giving advice and encouragement when I needed it most.
Roger would not want any of us to fuss over him and his family is following his wish so there will be no service. He was cremated and his ashes will be spread on a beach in Florida.
RIP Roger

My deepest condolences to Rogers family.
Roger was the most unselfish person I ever met.
He was always willing to help without expecting anything in return.
Roger volunteered to drive me to Virginia on a moments notice to pick up a new Z06.
Roger was like Waldo , at every Forum event and there used to be many, there was Roger.
My last contact with Roger was when he hired me to build his dream garage at his new house in Jackson NJ.
Rest In Peace Roger
You will be missed.

Roger was one of the nicest folks I ever met and was extremely active in the Forum hobby. I remember spending time with him at VIR and him offering advise even though his C5 was out of the event, he still remained upbeat and helped out the "new guys".
I am truly saddened to here this news and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Although we hadn't seen Rodger for some years now, and admittedly lost contact, this news is not only sad...it's quite a surprise. All our prayers, condolences, and love to Rodgers friends and family. R.I.P. Rodger.

Back in the glory days of the NE forum Roger would drive hours to come to any event. Back in 2004 we did a week long Corvette road trip with Roger and his knowledge of the Smokey mountain area was amazing. We will miss you my friend!
Deepest sympathies to Debbie and the family.

Wow. Very sorry to hear about Roger. Hadn't seen him in a few years, but was he was always a super nice guy. He was a friendly face at many HPDE and general corvette events and always had a kind word or advice.

Roger, Mr. Dean as I always jokingly referred to him. I really will miss him. We did a lot of events together, went to a lot of track days together, hung out at each others houses a lot, ran our C3's out in the pinelands, ran our C5's at the track and went to different events together, worked on our cars, and worked on his house and dream garage. He was a great friend and truely a "brother". He had a way of imparting some of his vast knowledge without making you feel stupid or foolish. When he spoke, you could see him listening and taking in everything you said, thinking about a response to it, and then verbalizing it. Roger taught me not to be too quick to respond immediately but to weigh my thoughtsand then respond . We once took my truck and trailer to VA to pick up his C5 when he was having problems with the cam position sensor and we must have laughed the whole way there and back. I still have pictures of him at NJMSP, WGI,VIR, and Pocono sleeping in his chair. We used to go to ECS just to hang out, we always went to lunch together afterwards and tried to make it a 2 week thing. At different tracks,we would follow each other and video each other, later analyzing it and trading thoughts and ideas of how to be smoother and faster. We laughed a lot on the Mr Mojo's carb runs, lunch get togethers, house visits, tracks, and on the phone. On one T4T's run he was following me and my front screen blew off, went in the air, landed on his hood and made an impring in the paint.. When my steering rack seperated from the car at VIR he offered me his car for the following day, but I found a Hendricks Motorsports shop in VA and had it repaired that night, but he helped me load the car on my trailer and unload it when I got back at 11:30 that night. At one time my wife thought I had a girlfriend because Roger and I spent so much time on the phone talking and laughing. I talked to him about 2 weeks ago to remind him that I still have his C3 shop manual and his Chiltons C3 manual and needed an address to send them to. He would let my wife take his C6 for a drive because it was an automatic and they would joke about him giving her that car. I bought a used R3 and he bought helmet snaps for me and gave them to me, not letting me pay for them. When he first had a cam installed in his C5 I took it for a ride and when I came back I told him that I had to have it and a week later I had it installed. We talked about drysumping our cars, and I actually bought his drysump whenit came out of his C5. We both had white C3's but he painted a red striped on his and did it himself. To sum up my rambling (I'm starting to tear up thinking about him and all the great times we had together). I'm very glad and feel very lucky to have become one of his friends. He was GREAT person and I truely miss him. Deb,if you ever read this, please know that I am really sorry for Rogers passing and if there is anything that you need please do not hesitate to call, Michelle, of course the same thing for you. I can't stop writing about him, but I will for now.:

Roger Dean, literally one of the nicest person you will ever meet, you will be missed.
I consider myself lucky to have spent a lot of fun days together road racing, at the ol' forum get togethers, or here at the shop.
Although he was an good customer of ECS, he was a better friend. Our condolences to his family.
