Default Watkins Glen Opening Day (weekend)

Watkins Glen Opening Day weekend is scheduled for Saturday April 8th and Sunday April 9th.

$25 gets you 3 laps around the track behind a pace car.

Any forum members going? I'm driving up with a few Mustang guys, can't find a Corvette that is going from my area.

Can't really tell where your area is from your post, or your information.

Wow, that's great!

We're digging out from a record snowfall. Over 3 feet

Wow, I would not be driving my car(s) too soon after that!

The Glen is my favorite track by far, but I don't think 3 laps behind a pace car would do much for me. Guess it depends who's driving the pace car! Enjoy if you go.

Ed's, since I've never tracked a car it will be a nice experience. Thanks and I hope the weather is favorable. If it is, I'll post a few pics.

Very cool. Will be a good time! Snap some pics!! 3 laps will definitely leave you with wanting more...Watkins is such a superb track, especially after the repave. You will enjoy it. I will be there on April 17th and 18th with HOD, then every few weeks throughout the season in either my blue C6 Z06 or white C7 Z06. You should try to get to an HPDE event if you can.

The trick for these parade lap events is to hang way back at the tail end of the group to give yourself a run at each corner!

I would love to go, but I'm about 4.5 hrs away from WG. So a 3 lap paced lap won't be worth it for me. However, I am planning on going for the April 28-30 bmw event.
