Default Private track rental Sacramento Raceway 12/5/09

I saw a few of you corvette guys up there last Saturday when the track got closed for high winds.

Here is your chance to set some new records and personal bests. Awesome track prep, all day, unlimited runs, great DA!

DAMN, You would have a bunch of us interested, but we are helping out on a big Toy run this sat. There is 250 Vettes involved with it. I plan on being back out on Dec 12th in the Z06, trying for a new PB.

I think you are the guy I ran a couple times in my black Trailblazer SS a couple weeks ago. Your car hauls a$$! I saw a video posted on another forum that had us lined up together.

Yeah, that's me. Thanks for the compliment. Your TB SS ain't slow either

Too bad the timing didn't work out. I hope they can get enough folks. Dec 5th looks like perfect weather. The 12th looks like rain.

What will be nice is they are going to be doing extra prep (hence the extra cost), the track will open early (0930 hrs) so the DA will be extra low and since it is a private rental they shouldn't hassle anyone about not having a rollbar if you run under 11.50

Hope to see you again at the track soon.

Good to hear they are going to extra prep the track surface. I like the layout of the track, but the surface needs better prep. At that track you get more runs on a surface not preped well and that could lead to more chances of an accident. At the other track you pay less and get less runs and less of a chance of an accident on a well preped surface. Just my .02c
What would be the charge to run?

The normal test and tune is $50, but the private runs before and after the T&T will be $260 if I read it right. They are allowing them to run a couple hours before the track opens and a couple hours after it closes. I wish I did not have this thing to do so I could go

It's expensive. $260 for unlimited runs from 0930 until 1800. The cost will go down if more than 15 folks sign up. A bit of the cost is an extra $1000 drum of VHT (in addition to what Sac already will lay down for the test-n-tune)

Sign up!!! This guy sets up track days all the time and has a very good reputation. Paypal him the money and if it doesn't fly it'll get refunded. They really need some more to sign up soon as they need to make a deposit this week.

Just think about it ...

DA is predicted to be -1200 at 0900 hrs.

You can run below 11.50 without a cage without worrying about getting kicked out

You can run all day as much as you want with excellent track prep

You can see 10-second AMGs, BMW M3s, Dodge SRT8s and a bunch of other cool modern performance cars.

There will be no '73 Camaros dripping oil, antifreeze, etc. on the track during the private track portion so no downtime.

Guess I'm gonna have to show up after the toy run to take advantage of the track prep. No way is it worth $210 for 2 1/2 hours extra run time. Sorry, but that's just me.

0930-1200 = 1.5 hrs

Actually if you go to the test-n-tunes you know they don't start until 1230 anyways so that is 2 hours before

1600 until 1800 hrs + 2 hour

So that is 3.5-4 hours of extra run time w/ better prep and better DA on both ends (12-4 is warmest part of the day)

Are they prepping the track before the test and tune? It would be best to get the VHT on the track as early as possible. The more cars that go down the track and the more sun that hits it makes it that much better. I am trying to swing a way to shop up for T&T, but I can't be there by 9:00. I would be willing to throw down a little extra on the VHT for T&T though. I reall want a 10.9x on street tires in the Z06.

Actually, 9:30-12 is 2.5 hours. 0930-1000 = 0.5, 1000-1100 = 1, 1100-1200 =1. No biggie.
T&T's usually start right around 12, on a normal day and tech starts between 11 and 12, with the gate/pits opening at 10. This may all be subject to change of course because of the rental.

The 1600-1800 is an added bonus, but I'd be tempted to see how they run it, meaning whether they will keep it open to all or just those participating in the rental.

It's gonna take a little time for the vht to set up especially if they are spraying before there is much sun on the track. VHT needs a little bit of heat to set up and that's why you'll see the person working the lights take a torch to the track sometimes.
Nonetheless, have fun everyone and I'm gonna try to sneak over for a few passes once the T&T opens up. DA should be awesome, but if you can't get traction, you won't be able to take advantage of it.

Yeah my math was wrong, $210 would buy you an extra 4.5-5 hours of track time with the extra prep. They were talking about having their own lane in the thread so if you don't pay for it you won't get it. Right now it looks like there are not enough folks so maybe it will just be the regular test-n-tune. In that case the normal prep won't allow a 10.9 on street tires (don't see that happening with the cool weather).

I would rather pay extra for good track prep than take a day off work, spend the day driving there, racing and driving back and spending money on entry fee, race gas, etc. only to have my tires spin.

I'll be there either way but encourage anyone to sign up for the best possible conditions for PBs. If it falls through the money is refundable.

hahahahah he said 73 camaro's dripping antifreeze....LOL.....

so you guys are renting the track before and after the TNT and it's $260????

I'll be there running my 9.0@150+ LT1 camaro... probably dipping into the 8's if the DA and track prep is as good as you say it'll be.....

so that's awesome with the extra VHT. I'm gonna stick to the normal TNT hours but if my car goes into the 8's i'll come over to your pit and thank you for the extra track prep..

cheers guys and see you up there....

Damn, how can I talk my wife into letting me go up there on Saturday? I'm going to Laguna on Friday. Next Saturday looks like rain so this would be my last chance of the year .

You need a wife that races.....like me.

We had a conversation last night with me explaining DA and how it effects times and now she wants to take advantage of the weather. I am a lucky man! :o

That's cool, but I won't trade my wife for anybody. Things get a little tricky when you have 3 kids playing sports and things on the weekends . Looks like I'll just have to wait a little longer to run the goat. Maybe I should use the time to cage it...
