TPS in Campbell is just over the Hill and right off the 17. Not aware of any in Santa Cruz. I believe Mike offers a loaner car, not 100% sure though. I think his crew is knowledgeable and they all seem to like their work. He is a Forum Sponsor too.
Give them a call he might know somebody closer for you. 408 370-1477.

Thanks for the info...... trying to stay local, if possible.
Ocean Chevy-Honda lost the Chevy line, but the Corvette techs are still working under the new Honda mgmt. Trying to stay away from dealers.

I think TPS will be the closest for you. Again I recommended you call and talk with Mike the owner, he has many contacts and may be able to steer you towards one in your area.

Ask for Vlad at Goodyear in Capitola. I normally avoid those places, but had a slow leak in my '02 rear tire. Mentioned I was having the parasitic electrical drain. Fixed the tire. Fixed the drain.
Back this weekend to replace a wheel bearing. Key word, 'Weekend'
Apparently, he worked for a Chevy dealership 'over the hill' (11 years!) before moving to S.C
I just remembered - I had the '85 4+3 rebuilt at Scotts Valley Transmission. Absolutely phenom. Did a great job;knew where to get rebuild kits (Ecklers) AND did a great job! Ask for Mark -

Thank you, chucksteelesr. And, thank you for responding to a 5 year-old thread. I plan to have
a conversation with Vlad in the near future. No work required at the moment, but eager to hear
what repairs he can handle.
Bookmarked Scotts Valley Transmission, if tranny work is required for my '92.
FYI: Big-O-Tire (Soquel Ave) fixes flat/leaky tires for
free.

Vettes in SC
NP..I moved from the mountains to the beach about 5 years ago. Became very frustrated and poorer due to unskilled 1/2 attempts by guys able to turn a wrench. I remembered your post; I was thrilled to find someone on this side of the hill. If they get business, maybe they will stay on this side...and I suppose I'm just passing it forward ...
Tell Vlad black '02.

There's some of us around, we just don't hear about it. I do my own basic maintenance; oil and fluid changes, brakes and spark plugs and injectors. Luckily haven't needed anything major yet.

Thanks for posting, ZR-71. At age 84, just walking is painfully difficult, much less caring for my vette.
As you probably read, chucksteelesr suggested contacting Vlad at Capitola Goodyear, which I intend to do.
Just yesterday, it took me 20 minutes to change license plates when it would take you only 2 minutes.
I agree that CF search offers a plethora of repair info. A valuable resource provided by some knowledgeable, and selfless vette owners.

Wow! Fellow Corvette owners in Santa Cruz! I see a couple Vettes from time to time, but usually it's when I look out my front window

At the thoughtful suggestion of chucksteelesr, I visited Capitola GoodYear to have a chat with Vlad. I learned the Vlad was was no longer employed at GoodYear, and that he had taken employment at Doc Auto-908 Ocean St.
I have used Doc Auto to service other vehicles, and have no complaints.

Wow! If you'd like to check out my 85 and 02, we could make it happen. Both stock. Both are awesome. Both manual. I love driving the 02 except when I'm driving the 85 😏. And vice-versa.

Capitola Vette needs a body shop?
Hi, just got my first Corvette, 2000 coupe, after a long search. Yesterday my neighbor backed into me, several cracks above the rear wheel.
I'm hearing about a few shops over the hill, anything local?
Would love to get together with local Corvette owners. I usually go to Cars and Coffee at Starbucks(41st ave) on Saturday mornings, always something interesting to see.
