Main Street In Motion Alameda Point
Did anyone attend the Main Street In Motion at Alameda Point May 20, 21 & 22, 2011. Used to be called Auto Show In Motion. It's a event where you test drive GM vehicle against the competition on a closed road course. The track are alot shorter than they used to be but still fun time out. Got test drive the Corvette Grand Sport Coupe, Camaro SS and RS, plus other vehicles. Here the web site.

I just wish they still did the "Rev it Up" competition. I nearly one a new Corvette at that event a few years ago.

They are 3 day events that everyone gets a chance to drive at. At the end of Sunday, they take the 20 fastest lap times from the 2,000 people that went throught the event and you got to come back for a run off in the Corvettes. They had a professional driver there to set the lap time that everyone had to beat and all the drivers got 2 chances to come close to his time. Lets just say that I beat his time, but they didn't like that so they said I hit a cone well after the times had come up on the board. Even with the run on video showing there was no cones, I was screwed. I ended up 8th or something, but the time I did have would've been good enough for a new Corvette at the end of the events for that year.
