This is all you need to know about the Raiders rushing game!

I know the Raiders love McFadden, but as I previously stated I would have dumped him over 2 seasons ago. He's neither durable nor consistent. Yes he is brilliant at times, but that's not enough in the NFL.
McFadden was only good when Hue Jackson was there as OC. One good thing about McFadden this year, he hasn't been hurt, lol. Start Murray, McFadden backup. Jones-Drew throw in the garbage.

Yeah, I agree, why not give Murray a chance, he the only rusher besides Carr that has any decent yardage. McFadden is a great outside runner, and not easy to bring down once he gets rolling. His vicious hit on SD linebacker Conner (blindsided) look painful!

I believe McFadden has only had one 100 yard rushing game in his career. His 3.5 yard average over ten games this year, puts him at 144th ranking in the NFL. Not good, when that is your leading rusher!

Drew-Jones will have to turn a corner pretty quick to stay on, when the Raiders really need some help on offense. His performance thus far is pathetic.

I'm sure Sparano is now second guessing his decision (dream) to be Raiders head coach. Though not his fault, he's damaged goods & his stock has dropped significantly for presiding over such an abysmal season.

I hope some one can chime in with some good news for the future!

Default Raiders Win, Raiders Win, No 0-16 Season

I think if Latavius Murray didn't get hurt, we win the game by at least 10 or more. When he got hurt, they had trouble running the ball and moving the offense. Glad on last drive they used Marcel Reece, he can break tackles and push the pile. Jones Drew garbage, and McFadden not much better. Next year, they should both be gone. I give McFadden props, for running hard and being healthy for so long this season. But they need to start, Latavius Murray next week against Rams and have Reece back him up, there the two best runners on the team. Well glad we got our first win and not going 0-16. Should had a 14-0 lead at halftime, but Denarius Moore screw up, after that they had Charles Woodson returning punts. Denarius Moore done as a Raider. Raiders congrat on win.

A good win against a pretty good team. But the Raiders special teams almost cost them the game. Mistake after mistake. Gotta love Carr though

We were up at Tahoe at Harvey's watching the game at the sports bar at Straw Hat. Not very crowded but everyone who was there were Raider fans. Really thought they were going to blow the game in the second half, as suddenly the defense had huge holes in it. The sack dance at the end was insane. The first half was the best football the Raiders have played in a long time. Hopefully this carries over and they can win a couple of more games this season.

Some random thoughts:

That was fun to watch. It was great hearing the crowd into it, now that they had something to cheer about. Too bad about Murray, I hope he's ok and can come back soon. Goodbye MJD.

I'm starting to come around on Hayden. Some nice plays and some big hits.

If we can replace Burris with someone decent we would have an outstanding LB crew.

Draft a stud DL in 2015 draft and we could have a pretty good D next year.

Wow, do we ever need a top receiver added to the O.

My man is ageless!

I been to that Straw Hat Pizza, in South Lake Tahoe, inside Harvey's Casino. Good pizza and draft beer. Great place to watch sports games and have some good pizza.

I hope you West Coast guys don't mind if I wander over & join your huddle. Paul 68 saw me trying to defend the faith over in OT, and invited me to hang out here on friendlier turf.

Quick background: I've been a Raider fan since the early '70s.

Thoughts on the state of Raider Nation:
I can't be the only one who's a little worried, knowing that Mark Davis now owns this team. Yes, Uncle Al's craziness caused some problems for us along the way, but Al also had drive and experience, whereas Mark doesn't seem to have learned anything helpful from his dad. One way or another, that team needs to remain in Oakland, and I don't know if Mark's got the brains around him to pull that off.

I'm still undecided as to whether McKenzie should stay on as GM. Drafts have improved, with the last one being our best in years. I truly believe Carr & Mack will be major NFL stars when there's a little more talent around them. OTOH, many of this year's free agency experiments seemed kinda iffy.

Then again, it may come down to our coaches. I have no doubt that this bunch will be gone 10 minutes after our last game, but I don't think we'll be able to get Chucky to ride in to save us. If you'll recall, the last time he was here, he had some serious talent on both sides of the ball. What's he going to build around in 2015?

Whoever the coach happens to be, they'll need to be involved in the draft. I'm curious where you guys think our biggest need is.
A) DL? Seems like we passed up at least one great DT last draft.
B) OL? Maybe not a desperate need, but if a good one comes up...
C) MLB? Do we ever get Nick back? Also, isn't it weird to see former Raider washout McClain starting for Dallas?
D) TE? I dare anyone to defend getting rid of Zach Miller.
E) WR? Hate to say it but our guys just don't scare anybody.
F) RB? Sorry, Damaged McFragile and MJD are just paycheck-collectors and need to be off the roster ASAP so we can free up some cash for new talent. I liked what I saw from Latavius Murray last Thursday, but it wouldn't hurt to give him some help.

Would you keep Schaub as a backup/mentor?

Welcome, this thread for Oakland Raiders fans, doesn't matter where your from. Schaub is gone after this year, he want to be starter somewhere and the Raiders are not going to waste another 8 million for him to sit on the bench again another year. For Nick Roach he is on IR.

Published: Oct. 8, 2014. The team announced Wednesday that middle linebacker Nick Roach has been placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Roach played every defensive snap in 2013, but has missed all four games this season after suffering a concussion in an Aug. 22 preseason game.

Signed through 2016, Roach is due $2.8 million next season. As he's still experiencing symptoms from his concussion, it's not a lock that he will resume his career in Oakland.

I would tend to agree with the drafting of a good defensive lineman is the first thing they should look at. The offensive line can always be improved upon. I would be looking for a quality receiver or two. To say our receivers don't scare anyone is an understatement. New England and Denver have proven that with a good offensive line you don't need to waste a high draft pick on a running back. Let Schaub go and hopefully pick up a good free agent.
