Need to borrow - LS1/LS6 lift plate for cherry picking motor
Does anyone have a lift plate for picking up an LS1/LS6 with a cherry picker? If so, could I borrow it for a few hours on Friday? I'll pay with beer - good, cold beer. 
Or can someone give me an easy way to cherry pick the motor without needing the special plate? I don't want to risk damaging it. The motor has the intake manifold removed already, and I know that the plate bolts down in place of the valley cover.

David, just use a 3/8" bolt on the back of the passenger's side head and one in front of the driver's side head to attach the chain. Hopefully you are using an engine leveler and lift away. I was always wary of using the carburator plate lifts or the lift plate you are describing with 4 1/4" bolts lifting a 500lb engine.

I've had my motor out dozens of times and used the chain to the head method each time. My 84 was partially metric. Stuff bolted to the block was SAE. Stuff bolted to the stuff bolted to the block was metric. Go figure.
