Default Thinking about making a few passes a Sac Raceway this weekend! Questions...

Hey Guys,

I've never got to make any passes at the drags with my most recent Heads/Cam setup. I'd like to get a fairly optimum pass out of the car, so I'm going to hit Sac, which has the best chance for good DA in CA.

My question is, since it's going to be a high of 70 this saturday, am I better off waiting a bit, or will 10 degrees not make too much difference on the DA at Sac. The weather looks very good (no rain) for the weekend. I have a long roundtrip to make from Socal, and don't want any bad weather to spoil the day.

I'm pretty busy, and don't have that many free weekends to try and get their before the weather really gets warm.

Any thoughts or opinions would be GREAT!

Thanks in advance...

I can't answer your question Joel, but if you're going to be in the Bay Area, give me a call. Sidney (925)354-1571

10 degrees shouldn't make that much of a difference on DA. In either case the weather should be good and cool this weekend, making for some good passes if the track is prepped well.

Therein lies the problem however - despite the $50 per car admission fee I don't believe they're prepping the track for Test & Tunes, or if they do then it's not all the time. You might get lucky but the last few times I've gone the track wasn't hooking all that well.

Would it do any good to call in advance, and what's your opinion on the DA this weekend, being a dragracer...

Thanks, I was hoping you would chime in...

I was thinking the same, and don't want to wait too long, before you know it, warm temps are here...

Thanks!!

The forcast for Monday is for cooler temperature. Sonoma Raceway has a ET points race scheduled for Monday. The track prep will be terrific. You will most likely only get 2 time runs before eliminations because of the many categories participating. The Sacramento t&t sounds like good bang for the buck.

Calling ahead won't help as they'll never admit to not prepping the track.

The DA should be okay, but not great. Yesterday it ranged from -446ft at noon to 0ft at 4:00 and with it going to be warmer on Sat you might just barely see it go negative during the T&T hours.

The gremlins always seem to come out right before a planned race. Good luck.

I had it all sorted out by about 2:00 today, but with still having to handle some business in Los Angeles, and just shy of 500 miles to get to the track before they open at 10:00 tomorrow, I decided to fight another day...

The temps are supposed to be a high of 72 tomorrow, maybe I can catch a bit lower temps in a few weeks...
