I can't thank you and Andy enough for the time & effort you guys put in to get this posted. I know Pat & Terry are very grateful also but they are crushed by their loss. It's such a shame because they are the nicest people you could hope to know. We were all having such a great weekend until this happened. Pat did a wonderful job putting his own personal touches on the car and it was a big hit wherever they took it. I just hope the bad guys get caught and they get their '62 back. How I'd love to get my hands on them personally.

It was parked in the lot of the B&B they were staying at (name unknown to me but right near downtown), and there were no surveillance cameras. Based upon statements of others who were staying there, there was a group hanging in the area shortly before it was taken. Taken between 8:30-9:30 PM because he parked it and left it at about 8:30 and some folks noticed it was gone around 9:30, not knowing it had been stolen. Pac Grove PD was working on some possible evidence but I didn't hear if they made any progress. Thanks for asking.

Hoping for the best possible outcome.
Just curious - was this car at Laguna Seca yesterday?

Yes, it was on display at the special corral at Stingray Island and they did the parade laps in it at lunch break. It also won an award at the Pac Grove Rally/Car show on Friday, which was very typical when it was at a show.

Thanks. It is the one that I saw there, then. Of all of the nice cars there, I stopped in front of this one and said "this is the one that I would want to own". Beautiful car.
I hope that your friends recover it unharmed.

On behalf of Pat and Terry- thanks to you and everyone else for the kind remarks and good wishes. They weren't at the track to witness it this morning, but there were a lot of people who were sickened by the news and who helped get the word out here, on the WSCC site, and by word of mouth. There was a long distance trucker in the group who hits the road tomorrow and vowed to watch for the car everywhere he goes. We truly do belong to a great community.

I've owned the car for over 20 years and never dreamed I would experience something like this. I very seldom ever took it out just because of my fears of theft.
The car was parked up in a small stall closest to the building. You could not see the car from the main street and only a very small portion from the side street.
There were at least eight people eating dinner less than 20' away when the thieves stole the vehicle. Yes they were there the entire time. Gravity played a big part in it because they never did have to start it. They definitely would have had to move/push it while in the driveway, and turn a tight corner to get it out. It was all down hill from there.
We know it was between 08:30 and 09:30 because we just arrived back at the inn after being out for dinner. Another inn guest arrived approximately 09:30 and even made comments to one another about the Corvette not being up it the small space. With it being only 09:30 they just assumed we weren't back yet.
Feeling pretty low right now.

Just posted this on my Facebook page. We're in the San Jose area. I figure the more eyes looking out for it, the better.
