Thanks Rick and Synergy
Little background.
Last year I installed Long tubes , ported tb and airaid intake. Tuned my car and it was making in 420’s whp.
After some time car started getting check engine light on and off, running lean and just wasn’t as smooth as before.
Decided to take it to Rick at Synergy (what I should have done first time) to get retune. I was surprised when he showed me that car was making only 389whp and running 20% lean all the time. So loss of more than 30hp. Apparently tune got messed up or never set right from the beginning….
Rick was playing with it for more than 45 min and got it right. Car is back in to 420’s running much smoother and he also eliminated that nasty exhaust popping . Love it. Thanks Rick

Can Synergy do anything for the much unloved, in some circles, A6 transmission as in the C6 cars ?
I have heard that there is some potential shifting improvement available in this area and would like to find out about it.
I was just thinking that a few well-thought-out tuning tweaks to the A6 might quiet down some of the negative press it receives
in forums and magazine test drive reports.
Just a thought.

What year is your car? The later programming is much better, and a proficient tuner can certainly improve the programming either way. Can't speak for Rick as to whether he tunes tranny's or not, but there are tuners out there who can.

Rich has tweaked my A6 for much better shift points , but not sure about the warranty on the new c7 and how it would effect it.... some don't care about it some do

Even though I also asked about an A6 in a C6, I am speaking in regard to a 2014 Stingray.
Has anyone gone to the trouble to take out either an extended warranty or separate (damage + theft) insurance for the Z51 wheels/tires? I was advised to take an extended warranty out for the wheels/tires by Kerbeck.
Their concern was that the Z51's low profile wheels/tires would be damaged much more easily than the base wheels/tires by brushing/hitting curbs and such. Given the price of replacement Z51 wheels/Tires, that might be good advice. Has anyone gotten either extended warranty or insurance to deal with the Z51 wheels on a C7.
Can anyone suggest a source for such an extended warranty on the wheels/tires for a Z51?
Thanks for any help.

Most everything I've seen on the C7 auto, as well as the later C6 year (same tranny I believe) has been positive. I know the earlier C6 6 speed tranny had soft programming, but as I understand it they made changes around 2010 which addressed some of the shortcomings. I know that the A6 in my GS shifts great, and the A6 in our '06 Z51 does seem more sluggish.
Are you dissatisfied with the performance of yours, or just concerned about the information being propagated? Reputations are hard to overcome, and from my observations that appears to be true with the A6.
Check with Rick to see if he tunes 'em, or if not if he can recommend a good tuner who can?

Should be fairly obvious what shop originally tuned it if you look at the OP's avatar. The shop is in the south bay.
Or you could easily search back in the OP's threads for dyno results from a year or so back.

No. OP sent me a PM with the shop name - which was who I had guessed. Same shop did a build for me a few years ago that ended up eventually requiring $4,000 in repairs and re-do's. Not surprised they botched the tune. When I took my car to Rick at Synergy to fix the tune, there were a lot of WTF Moments after he popped the hood. This is the same shop that spliced a radiator hose using a plastic vacuum line splice.
No, I won't name the shop here. That would be a rule violation.

in which the editor of the magazine(who did the test drive) has some discouraging words about the A6 box in a C7. He documented his concerns about the A6 transmission.
In a subsequent issue of Corvette magazine, namely the #88 April 2014 issue, a thorough road/track test of three different configurations of the C7 convertible were tested. The test driver gave the A6 a pretty lukewwarm review.

Thanks for the references... I'll have to look them up now out of curiosity. As I said, I've been reading as much as possible since the original announcements, and most of what I've seen seems to mirror my experiences with my later model A6.
It will be interesting to see how the A8 does.

Gotta add one more thing. Not only that car is faster and smoother but my MPG went up,. I was making about 11 to 12mpg in the city and 19 freeway.. now with Ricks tune average 15 to 16 city and 29 freeway.
well on the Rainbow Run with all the spirited driving i was getting 19 to 22 mpg.
